Both keys have been tied and there is no difference for the away goal, so...

@msioux75, @La-Máquina and @tLB Odiseo, please, select 1 goalkeeper and 5 penalty kickers from your squad (they doesn't need to have played in the last game) and send me your lists in order.

I'll send my own list to a manager who doesn't play the semifinals to corroborate it.

Congratulations @La-Máquina (sorry it's a bit late lol!).

I was just checking I'd not missed the results of the voting on the 'best XIs', but since I might be partially responsible for making Peru forget (since I suggested waiting until after the tournament) and since I showed my votes for the Eras Draft, I'll copy and paste my Chain Draft votes here too now and that'll give Peru a reminder I guess!

    Best Team
    1 - Diez
    2 - La-Maquina
    3 - Peru FC
    4 - poetgooner
    5 - thebigman

    Best Defence
    1 - msioux75
    2 - Diez
    3 - poetgooner

    Best Midfield
    1 - Peru FC
    2 - poetgooner
    3 - Diez

    Best Attack
    1 - La-Maquina
    2 - Diez
    3 - OT_CAPITANO

Like I did for the Eras Draft, I'll add a few notes about other teams not in my vote, and might as well quote from my reply to Peru when he'd sent me his votes too:
I'd add that I probably saw the comments about Odiseo's team and Tom's team as quite interchangeable really; having their defences very closely matched but also their overall line-ups. Probably it was just more convenient to give them one mention each in my reply to Peru.

So double congratulations to @La-Máquina then (unlike with the Eras Draft where the tournament and ranking votes returned different champion teams)!

Also to @msioux75 and @Diez for the defence and midfield respectively.

There was a kind of internal discussion (on WhatsApp) about whether or not that attack quartet (Zico, Garrincha, Messi and Ronaldinho) could work ideally. I think there were many doubts about whether Zico and Messi would not overlap in the same area, if Messi could really explode as striker (not like a false 9 by not having wing-forwards on the sides), if Garrincha's rhythm fit well with Messi's... but at the time of the votes it's clear that the lineup convinced the majority and it was difficult to face.

Honestly, I thought I could equate the attack in the final with my own quartet (Charlton, Maradona, Rivaldo and Romário) and hint at better defense and midfield, but the wave was very difficult to surf.

I had the same question, especially since Ronaldinho too liked to cut inside, so it could get crowded in there.

I don't think your attacking quartet was far behind at all in terms of talent. These were my reservations about your team's attack compared to his:

    1. Just like LMQ, you have a lot of players who like to operate in the same zone. I felt Rivaldo being placed on the left was the only one who might stretch wide. Maradona on the right will cut inside, nothing wrong with that of course.

LMQ players were more "expansive" in my mind. Ronaldinho played pretty wide for Barcelona, and Garrincha crucially was a winger who can give his team width. So his attack was more naturally "spaced out".

    2. One of the decisive factor for me was your right flank. I love the Maradona cutting in role, especially since I don't think Charlton needs to be a high-volume ball-user, as he could do his best job off-the-ball. That's a combination I like a lot. Personally, I've always felt like Charlton is such a good pick to combine with wide players who are high-volume ball users like Rivaldo and Maradona.

However, Thuram doesn't provide the offensive prowess to fully take advantage of Maradona cutting inside. With a wingback, I thought you could've had a right flank similar to that of the real life Messi/Alves, which is one of the greatest of all time right flank.

This is particularly true since LMQ's left flank is honestly quite weak defensively, compared to his right flank. Carlos, Ronaldinho, and Redondo is not a tough flank to abuse, but I thought you lacked that wingback to take full advantage of it.
