I disagree totally in 1958 ... Pelé of being Ballon D'or .. For me .. Didi Folha seca ...and Raymond Kopa .. were players ...more complete than the younger Pelé with 17 years old ...well of course it's normal ... by ages ...Of Didi and Kopa ... For me ... Ballon D'or in 1958 podium : 1# Didi ... 2# Raymond Kopa or vice-versa ... 1 # Kopa and 2# Didi ... is harder to confirm ..anyone .. between ..Didi and Kopa ... 3 # Pelé or Fontaine ..or Garrincha .. or Vavá ... or Nilton Santos ...!

At the end of the match, a crowd invaded the field to carry Pelé. Defender Ovejo knocked down the crossbar when Santos scored their second goal... the stadium was packed to see Pelé for the last time in Europe.
Yes, it would have been premature to award the Golden Ball to Pelé even though he still had a great season crowned by the World Cup, scoring a hat-trick and a brace in the semi-final and final and a very important goal against Wales.
yes ... Perfect Vision ....... in 1959 and 1960 also : was premature ... ...Real Madrid 5 x 3 Santos FC Of Pelé ... The game After 10 minutes, Pelé hit a shot from outside the area and opened the scoring for the visitors. However, involved by Real's offensive movements, in 20 minutes the beach side conceded three goals from striker Enrique Mateos, who overshadowed the stars on the field by taking advantage of three precious assists from Alfredo Di Stéfano. In the second half, the Brazilians reacted with Pepe, in a violent penalty for a penalty conceded by Pelé. Managing the advantage, the home team increased it again with Ferenc Puskás, diving like a fish to test the ball inside the area. In a play by Pelé, the number 10 shot hard, the goalkeeper blocked it and the rebound went to Coutinho, just turned 16, who pushed it into the net and reduced it. In the 38th minute, Di Stéfano distributed his last and fourth assist of the game. He advanced through the middle and played a millimetric pass at the feet of Gento, who closed the score. Post-game After the match, Real Madrid coach Luis Carniglia praised Pelé: "Pelé showed great ease in shooting and a lot of mischief, trickery. He carries the ball very well and infiltrates dangerously. But he was very well marked.”[5] The then president of the Merengue club, Santiago Bernabéu, stopped by the Alexandra hotel to visit the Santos delegation, but, although enchanted by Pelé's football, concluded that he was still too young.[3] As for Marca, the match demonstrated that Alfredo Di Stéfano was the best player in the world. The newspaper described the "great work of Alfredo Di Stéfano, an entire orchestra conductor, capable of literally destroying a slow and pretentious rival."[5] The conclusion in Madrid was that Santos had four great attackers (Pepe, Pelé, Pagão and Coutinho),
The matches against the European clubs of 1974 end here. Santos' report is: 1W 0D 2L GF: 4 GS: 8 GD: -4 Pelè 3 goals in 3 games
yes .... World Cup 1958 Didi 6 matches 5 Assists 2 Goals Raymond Kopa 6 matches 3 goals 7 Assists 1 Pre-assist Pelé 4 matches 6 goals 2 Assists Garrincha 4 matches 2 Assists 2 Pre-Assists ..
Great contribution, Di Stefano in those years was already an experienced and mature player, while Pelè was 20 years old, maybe not even turned yet. I can't say exactly when Pelè deserved the Golden Ball but following the logic that the best player in the world doesn't always win it, Pelè in 1958 played a Golden Ball year for sure, El Grafico (I think) drew up a ranking of the players with the highest value after the World Cup and the Brazilian was at the top. I believe however that O Rey, becomes a fully mature player from 1962, with the consecration against Benfica, it's a shame that we couldn't admire him at the World Cup.

My work in this post is finished, I hope it was appreciated. If there were errors or oversights please report, there are many games and I may have made mistakes. On many sites I have read that Pelè's goals with the Santos jersey against European clubs are 144 in 130 games. From the work done I count 151 in 137 games.

(@Trachta10) May 28, 2022 Usually the winner of the Ballon d'Or is the most standout player in the most relevant competition of the year. In this case, in 1958 it was the World Cup and the most standout player was Didi. 1958 was his peak and if I'm not mistaken he gave more than 30 assists in the season

When i was young and i start to listen music ,i remember i liked a lot of guitar players as eddie van halen and my mind only feel that kind of guitar player(the fastest) I remember one time one old man (my father friend) show me something from garoto(brazilian guitar player and he plays in the carmen miranda band with her in USA) , laurindo de almeida, baden powell and i hated a lot(all melodic guys) When you getting older i realise that kind of musician i used to love when i was younger doesnt make more sense to me and guys like knoppler and gilmour i use to hate i realise had a wonderful legacy Today is only number , statistics, youtube, etc JImmy hendrix today will be a shit compared with slash or dimebag??? i believe not And Randy Roads? The coldplay guitar player had more legacy than him?(randy died young) I read a lot of forum and discussion and the main argument is NUMBERS? or MY OPINION???? I fell sorry for youall knights of "shitmessi" because your generation rich of all kind of information but youall do not FEEL the game as the others generations used to do What the meaning of PELE and MARADONA have their legacy destroyed by NUMBERS??? I Feel sorry because you all watch a kind of sport reduced to $$$$$$$$$$$$
