Sorry for the literary reference, but it was nice, no? I am a bit curious as to why we haven't been mentioned in any trades or waivers or whatnot...having spent some time on the boards at www.ussocceruk.com/index.php listenting to all the transfertalk we seem to be the quietest of the lot. With the need to get under the cap due to raises and Graziani I am confused as to why we've not really seem to be involved with with Chicago Metros Dallas or DC in final minute dealings.
Not quite as spooky, but I just bought a new CD reissue of the classic early 80s punk compilation Not So Quiet on the Western Front... Toffs, not sure why the Quakes are being so quiet. At least one player is trying to get an offer from overseas, to either transfer over there or get some contract leverage with MLS. And the Quakes would like to re-sign him and other players whose contracts are up. Other than that, who knows? I hope we're not depending on drafting players to fill our lineup holes.
Re: Re: All Quiet on the Western Front? That's not going to work if your team is a contender. Expect a long season of losing if that's the case. The balance of a draft, trades, free agents, and pickups will keep a team competitive especially since this is a team one year removed from a championship.
It is still a little bit too quiet for my liking...I realize Frank is a fantastic poker player with a mind as sharp as Big Blue...but damnit the suspence is killing me...
