If vini is smart, he'll not sign, stay this year and cash in big time next season. Even if he won't play much this year he'll still be a big name next season.

Real Madrid can't do $hit to prevent it. They sign the same contract that vini signed and it ends in 2027.

Also a gamble on his side. An injury can change everything

They can't force it, but they can incentivize it. Vini would be taking a massive risk running his contract down. He's played significant minutes the past few seasons, so there is tons of wear and tear on his body. A major injury, God forbid, like Rodrygo's for example, would kill any offer. The club can offer a part of the transfer fee to compensate for the signing bonus, Arsenal will meet his wage demands and image rights, so he will get immediate financial benefit instead of waiting a year and taking on the risk.

At this stage, this is the only solution that is amenable to all parties.

You don't understand who Florentino Perez is. I already know the deal is done, but forget that for a second, do you think Florentino is going to get dunked on by Arsenal and Vinicius? He's a tough business man.

It's also very unusual territory for Real Madrid. We have obviously played that game and incentivized players from other teams to play out their contracts and come for free, but I can't recall a time where a player in their prime would do that to Real Madrid. We've had players play out their contract, but usually those are players we want to get rid of and can't for market reasons.

This situation could have serious ramifications for the prestige of the club. Players never want to leave us unless they can't see the field.

Vini leaving us on a free at 27 years old with plenty left in his tank would be unprecedented.

Ignoring the figures for a minute, from a sentimental perspective hopefully he stays and we find a balance in attack between him, Jude and Mbappe.

He’s done so many great things at the club, it’ll be hard to see him leave and then spark up the Prem.

I think it would be naive to think this can work after the last 2 years. Many certainly seemed to think so just a month or two ago.

Sky sports have said this yesterday and day before so it’s nothing new and groundbreaking yet.

The fact that the sport isn't full of clubs falling over each other to get him says it all.

He's bent the knee multiple times lately.

The toughest he's been is to the fans and the paying public.

Florentino got tough with Ron and Ramos when they got old. He didn't want Ramos and Ron leaving in 2015 and 2013 and agreed to their terms. Seems like he doesn't want Vini to lose Vini to Arsenal at 26.

I for one want Vini to stay at madrid. I think he helps my club, and he [indirectly] provides me with entertainment in the form of Vini glazers on this thread.

    He used to be.

It took an unlikely Mourinho return and Riquelme winning 30% of the votes to force his hand with deals we've needed for years; Calafat pressing his buttons on demand..

    But we'll see..

This is what I said in another post. Way before any of this happened. «An extreme example, and this will be last I speak of Vini this summer before his move to Arsenal : When we look at something like the JFK assasination and we see the # of inconsistencies, coincidences, manipulation, photo ops, narratives etc. We all know that the "truth" is manufactured. We are now talking about a $170 million asset that has serious ties to the history of the club. They will do everything they can to manufacture a "new" truth, and Vini will do everything he can to not upset the powers that be at while speaking his own truth.»

That's not true. The hottest team of the world right now wants to get him.

I understand the feeling towards Vini but let's put some perspective. He came here at age 16, won 2 ucl and scored on both finals. I don't mind him leaving but he's one of our legends no matter what.

Lame publicity stunt. Videos and plenty of stuff still online.

Mom says it's my turn on the Xbox type behavior.
