Sure Jan. Because him winning the golden boot will suddenly make him a much better player, fix his relationship with Mbappe, make him work harder defensively, make him more receptive to coaching, stop him from arguing with opponents and fans. Just like that magically.
Dint say golden boot magically fixes every rough edge in his game. The point is a Real Madrid attacker being one of the best players at a WC is not some catastrophe for us. You’re taking normal flaws & inflating them into a character trial, then acting like his success would only make them worse. Treating a standout WC from him as bad news for RM makes very little sense. At that point, the argument ssounds more like an attempt to frame any success he has as a problem.

I disagree. He’s marketing and commercial status will impact the contract and even whether the club pushes to sell him this summer.

And so the talk starts about the golden ball for the World Cup, given to the best player. Not the best goal scorer or prettiest player or even most politically correct player. BEST player and this man has to be in the conversation he’s got the goals, he’s got the assists, he’s got the wins. He’s not surrounded by Balon d’Or winners or all the latest flash in the pan player du jours he’s carrying a nation on his back.

Pretty good for a washed, drought merchant who's been a liability for madrid for so long innit Time for some to crawl back into your little hate holes. The same ones they slithered out of every time he had a quiet club game.
I just hope he comes back with his head on straight the best version of Jr is important part of the squad
I think the contract issue lays entirely at Vinis feet. He was asking for a massive increase in wages but his form dropped off so hard almost a year and a half management started to second guess if he was worth it. If he maintained something close to his 2022-2024 form he'd be worth every penny of the raise.
🚨 Vinícius Jr. put an END to the debate regarding his defensive effort. He lead by example, just like against Morocco, and started the match pressing high alongside Raphinha. @diarioas pic.twitter.com/vRDFbMaPKS— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) June 20, 2026
How does a match where they have 90% of all the action answers how any player responds when his team is under pressure?

As running a "with Vini to the end" story which suggests what has been discussed. Carlo is playing totally through Vini for as long as it lasts. I can see them going far. Yes the team has weaknesses but they can beat anybody on their day.
Brazil has taken 20 shots in 2 games and Vini has taken 4. That's the amount of shots other big players have in one half. Kane for example took 7 shots against Croatia, Haaland took 5 etc. If Brazil are to have any chance of going far they have to put Vini in positions to score more but I feel like there is too much individualism in the final third from them. Too many players going for personal glory over teeing up players in better positions. Their defence is still poor. I dont see them progressing against the big teams. Big teams will just make sure to subdue Vini and then it'll be up to the rest to create and score and boy are they bad
Vini himself tried to dribble past the goalkeeper at times, just incredibly selfish from everybody involved but I kind of feel as a player when the difference in quality is this big it makes you feel as if you can allow yourself to do that at 3-0. I don't treat statistics with the same kind of importance as in a league competition because some teams played against borderline amateurs, the kind of statistical balance is totally off right now.
I think the team is enjoying themselves a bit once they've taken care of business. I don't have any complaints but I could see CA subbing a little sooner as the miles add up over tournament. But I don't think the players would appreciate it.

The man was a star player and became the focal point of a team that won 2 CL, 2 la ligas, and a copa in three seasons and the club's stance was: - "NOPE, NOT GOOD ENOUGH we like Mbappe better so we're giving him a better, higher paying contract. You need to suck it up, not play too good and do your part to Make Mbappe Great Again, he had a hard time at PSG after rejecting us twice and we think he deserves for everyone at the club to bend over for him." #MbappeFC #RealMbappeC.F.
It just didn’t drop off as much as some people claim. Totally overstated. He’s just not good enough to turn the last two seasons around on his own, but neither was Mbappe. The guy is a player in his prime 5 seasons in a row and we still have to hear about Robinho.
