If you make sense from the clubs standpoint you don't sign anything prior to the world cup. Wild weather, pitches that are fresh replacements for turf in some cases. A game every two or three days, along with opponents that might never see you ever again so you don't have the same professional courtesy you usually have. On the player side going into a contract year with that + a season ahead of you is quite a risky move. You might feel like you'll crush it at the world cup. And increase your value but that's a long shot.

That performance was trademark Vini Jr 2019/20 and 20/21 all over again. Everything he touched turned into shit.
