Sometimes, but there is a balance, sometimes the passes are great and sometimes they are smacked aimlessly it seems to nowhere randomly in midfield
If he was gonna cost the team some goals, he needs to make sure he gets even at the other end. And he didnt at the last game.
If Vini wants his bumper contract rather than being sold this summer, he better have a world class game in the 2nd leg. He is our current Mr. Champions League. He better show up and put it all on the line in this potential season ender game. Otherwise, Madrid needs to start planning for next season. There is zero chance Madrid overturns a 7 pt lead by Barca. If Barca get knocked out of the CL, they only have the league to play for. I also wouldn't understand if he decides to let up and go easy. No point leaving gas in the tank because he is hardly a consequential player for Brazil in any major tournaments.

Man, this is worse than Pipita against Lyon in 2010. His finishing is just not fitting for a player at this level.

Vinicius Junior was seen shouting and pointing at Carvajal, to the point where Alaba had to slap his hand down.Vini’s attitude is getting worse. He’s now even attacking his own captain. pic.twitter.com/7ghUTMzROe— ໊ (@oboo_emma_) April 16, 2026 starting on carvajal now lol
I had a good friend that has this type of mentality. She's gay and perceives every piece of advice or critique as an attack. It's exhausting.
Carvajal was being an unhinged kunt, Arbeloa was just standing there pretending like he had a AT magic trick instead of telling the "captain" to STFU and sit down. I'm going to side with Junior here.
Despite the haters, he was still very good many times against top teams. He’s up there with the best of them Dembele, Rodri, Fed Valverde, Haaland, etc. To think a return to form for Vini would see the club having to go from the "old, new Dembele" to the "new, new Dembele" and to think the clubs been searching for it's own Demble since the "real" Dembele arrived in Barcelona all those years ago. HAHA, WE DON"T NEED THE FRENCHMAN.
I've been hearing how Vini is "back" intermittently all season. It's just how he is. He plays really well with a Benzema type, and is pretty decisive as the spearhead of the offence. With Mbappe he becomes more of an assist guy without the work-rate, and if Mbappe isn't scoring the goals, then sadly neither is Vini. FloPe made Vini feel like the star of the club. It only made sense that he would have a reaction being subbed by Xabi in the Clasico, and Xabi was too much of a dumb*ss to foresee it. Now that the club is 2 seasons without a title, I want to see a coach that demands more respect from him and asks for more, but with better soft skills. Arbeloa could've been it for all we know but he was brought in to make miracles happen. Meanwhile, the anti-fans are blowing up the message-boards now that there's zero chance to have egg on their face anytime soon and I wonder how this growing sentiment affects the board's decision-making. This is a club that runs on spectacle, so the fancy footwork players with proven track records are very likely to stay, but for the love of god Vini needs to pick his spots more. Please.
it is amazing how much he has achived having such a horrible shooting, there wont be another player like this
Man there's lots of whinging on this thread, especially from some folks who seemed to have disappeared when the team wasn't following the narrative and sucking in every game but who now seem to have the most to say, looks like they were just waiting till we lost to show up again....meh....
This "quiet/active" thing actually happens from both sides of the isle. Vini is a polarizing figure, so people "waiting in the shadows" to dunk on each other is no surprise. In any case, we all saw a stretch this season in which Vini proved he can still perform at a high level. Regardless, his consistency is still an issue and there's an argument to be made that his performances for Selecao have also continued to be hit and miss. Maybe the team is better off without one of Vini or Mbappe, but a departure like that most likely won't happen if Vini wants to stay in Madrid. Florentino loves him and if Vini accepts a lower contract that'll be the end of that discussion. Perhaps the fans and their relationship to Vinicius will be the make-or-break factor here. If they boo him again before the end of the season, perhaps we'll see him explore other options after the world cup.
Vinny is just a child when it comes to his career, just look at his behavior on the pitch. His management team are the ones who will decide whether he extends or not. The payroll to keep everyone fed and clothed to the lifestyle is quite big for Vinny, so this contract has to be bigger. I think Flo will do what he can to extend him, as he is a favorite of his. But the delta in money is too big right now. I think there is a likely scenario of Vinny winding down the contract and trying to get a signing bonus wherever he lands. I don’t see his management team making this a good exit for RM.
Maybe that's the plan. So far the signals have been that he really wants to extend, and there haven't really been any rumours of any club making contact with him.
