Dry humping the corner flag is a bit over the top for me, but it doesn't justify racism. Hope the clown who insulted Vini is punished. And of course, the goal was world class.
I doubt it. I would like to believe Vinicius because of the seriousness of the topic (makes it less likely to accuse someone randomly), but he hasnt been exactly treating it that way. At the same time he is known to be narcisistic and thinking everyone is out to get him. Maybe he misheard or misinterpret something. I dont want to fall to tribalism confirmation bias right away. There was a shot of Prestiani talking to Barreiro and it looked to me like hes telling him Vini got it wrong and the guy looked like he believed him. I dont know, nobody does. Either way always drama, cant even celebrate a great goal without some shananigans.
You are an idiot. No need to follow up. You can just think that I'm an emotional social justice warrior or whatever you tell yourself to justify how you think. But that doesn't make you less of a moron.
That being said its ridiculous that football fans in stadiums are basically there to unleash their frustrations and theyre not even trying to act like normal humans. Our player got hit by a bottle ffs absolute neandarthals
Youre not even an emotional sjw, youre just taking the side of the player you like from the team you support. Its normal. But saying someone is guilty of racism without conclusive evidence and calling everyone who expects that idiots complicit in racism is a bit too much
No I wouldn't. The same video happens and it's one of our players doing exactly what that guy did today and I want him out. I don't care about the team or the player when it comes to something like that.
If he did it I would want him out too.But he says he said maricon. and Vinicius is a hothead narcissist si not exactlycredible. Im sure he believes the guy called him that but I take Mourinhos side here. You dont make a verdict based on that video. Youre not in that guys head.
I dont know, everybody covers their mouths all the time when they talk. Maybe their breath smells. He might have said it, who knows. But I dont know the guys personality like I know Vini. Maybe if I did I would have been more convinced. But just because hes Argentinian is not enough for me
Yea. This Prestianni clown is guilty. Mbappe said he heard him call Vini "Monkey" 5 times. Cama who was very near Vini and Prestianni also confirmed the racist slur. 🚨 Prestianni told the referee that he called Vini "hermano" (brother) not "m*no" (m*nkey). @DiarioOle HE COVERED HIS MOUTH TO SAY "BROTHER" APPARENTLY, THIS GUY IS A JOKE 🤣🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/GVe6yYsqlD— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) February 17, 2026
He most likely said the M word. But unless there is solid evidence or admission, punishment in this case would be baseless and unlawful.

What happened yesterday was another dark moment in football. It just doesn't end. Look, everyone that might be thinking "he probably misheard it", don't foot yourselves. Regardless of the 'volume' in the stadium, these players can hear perfectly well what is said to them, particularly when they're that close to each other. The fact that Vini reacted so quickly and instinctively to what that Argentine piece of sh*t (he is one, regardless of yesterday's antics – he is always behaving like one every time I see him) said, makes it very hard to believe (for me it's even certain, but hey..) that he wasn't called a racial slur. At the moment, the burden of proof is just almost impossible to satisfy for a potential victim, and the alleged act is almost impossible to punish by a ref. It'll remain hearsay, and the biggest piece of sh*t will always deny what he said. UEFA should just introduce mics, enforce strictly and be done with this stuff. But we all know they won't.
100 percent with Vini on this! Proud of our players reaction as well. This was team building moment! When you’re a racist, it’s always hanging right below the surface. All it takes is a person of color annoying you a little, and it comes out. Vini can be an annoying guy lol…so he brings out the racism in A LOT of people. Baila Vini!
Look at this video. Prestianni was already calling Vinícius Jr a “m*onkey” long before he even heard it.That’s why Mbappé said he heard it five times, and reason why he was the first to confront him. pic.twitter.com/ApkVINqoRv— 10 (@Kylian) February 18, 2026 Heartbreaking to see Vini's face the moment he realizes what Prestianni is saying
Also the explanation that he called him maricon... "Look guys I can explain. I'm a homophobe not a f*cking racist. We're all good right?" If one of our players did that and our club protected him like benfica is doing, I really don't think I could move on and keep supporting the club.
Maybe this is just my thing, but covering your mouth with your hand vs. covering your mouth by pulling up your shirt just feels more dubious. Like, the former might feel like an involuntary reflex if you're trying to tell someone something privately, there's an extra step involved to pull up your shirt to say something.
There is nothing baseless or unlawful about punishing a player if you have multiple accounts of the same version. I don't need video evidence of him actually saying it to punish it. That's at least if UEFA is a serious organization. That's just on the player's side. The club itself should receive a hefty penalty. Racist gestures and objects thrown on the pitch, that's all on video.
In that extended video, you can see he has a lot to say without covering his mouth but only chose to cover it in certain instances.
- He receives monkey chants from individuals in the crowd (watch the videos behind goal) - He gets called a monkey by another footballer. Corroborated by other players. - He gets hit by bottles from the crowd. - In the past he has been racially abused 16 times. https://www.espn.co.uk/football/sto...l-madrid-laliga-racial-abuse-valencia-21-2023 And then you have @Hendrix22 on this thread victim blaming. Enough. We have fought wars against racism where people have died and we will continue to fight wars against racism. This is not a subject to fuk around with.
