One thing that irked me about the penalty discussion by the commentators was "the kick was not enough to make him fall, he dived to sell it". If a player has to fall to win a foul its no wonder players are diving. If you kick my leg its a foul, I'm pretty sure the rules don't state the kick needing to be strong enough to draw blood.
That was a penalty no doubt about it. And don't get me started on the added time. Ridiculous. Pathetic excuse of a league. Really proud of the boys for getting that win.
We have seen the same type of penalty foul given over and over again bec. the defender leave their legs like that. Unfortunately, this was Vini, and this is La Liga.

"You see this car here has driven 120,000 miles in the last five years!" "How many miles did it go in the last year?" "10,000."
📊 Vini Jr last 70 games for Real Madrid. 🇧🇷🤍55 G/A is not bad for an out of form player 🤷🏾 pic.twitter.com/QrC2FQjP0D— VJ7 Stats 📊🇧🇷 (@vinijr_stats) December 16, 2025
Stats do not show the full picture. Vini has been inconsistent as hell, when his head is into it he's world class, when he's acting up or losing it he looks like a Sunday league player. He's not even half the player that he was during his BDO season. Thing that scares me a lot is that he looks like he's losing football IQ. Yet he has all the tools in the box, ive seen him pass like Modric, yet he does not know how to recycle the ball and not lose possession.
You mocked “5 seasons” like it’s some ancient era, but it’s literally the span that captures his rise from raw kid to elite producer. If i cherry picked one hot month you’d cry sample size. If i show a multi season trend you cry “salesman.” Heads you whine, tails you whine. Yes, he’s inconsistent. He’s also the most targeted attacker we have. When you’re double teamed, kicked n funneled into because the other flank is a museum exhibit, every mistake gets magnified. But you don’t rack up elite production over multiple seasons in a league by being Sunday league anything. Also, him not being half the player of his BDO season is exactly what a dip looks like. Cause form is not a straight line. You cant erase a player’s level because he’s in a rough patch. You’ve seen him pass like Modric but then you want him to play like Modric while being defended like a winger. It's time to pick a lane. And again while we're at it, vini has 16 trivela assists under his belt. Typical for zero footballing IQ, right?
I'm assuming clubs will run our doors down with offers then. When a dip lasts 2 years it's a standard BTW.
Nothing. But if that makes me a salesman then you’re a Yelp reviewer judging a restaurant off one bad bite and declaring the chef finished. Which is definitely wrong!
You don’t get doors run down offers for anyone in December when the whole club is a tactical dumpster fire and the fanbase is doing free PR damage. Vini’s worst stretches still involve being double teamed and drawing fouls in the final third because opponents still fear him. That's why "worst season of career" vini still has 13 G/A as compared to "best dribble in the world", second coming of christ named Jeremy doku with 9. If the food was really that bad for two years, we wouldn’t have been riding his output across those seasons, defenses wouldn’t still be collapsing toward him and you certainly wouldn’t be this emotionally invested in every touch.

The last 5 pages or so of this thread have been a pointless vicious cycle. Almost like a time paradox
