And just a couple months in they've already clashed harder than any coach and player has in years. The end result of that was Vinicius getting rewarded with multiple starts and playthroughs, not following penalty kick protocols and just being himself and not changing anything. Meanwhile the coach is under fire and even the vocal supporters of the team like Tibo have zipped it. Everything is fluid obviously, but the current situation is garbage.
I don’t disagree with this, but I think he did work on it and the data still shows he’s taking the most difficult shots because nobody else bothers to occupy those zones. That’s the point. when others pull out of the box like it’s under quarantine he’s the one actually pulling the trigger. He can (and he has to) polish his shooting but when the structure gives you low percentage looks and zero decoys, you’re not suddenly turning into Kroos /fede from range
The shot he takes that hits the side net constantly is the worst shot in football. Pretty much a 1% chance, any other player gets shot out of a cannon to the moon for trying it this often. The problem isn't the shot though, it's that he takes it because it's a consequence of his constant cut across the goalline that simply isn't as effective anymore after a millionth time doing it.
Youre literally doing the Charlie conspiracy meme. They didn't clash, Vinicius throwing a tantrum because hes being taken off in a clasico where hes fired up and playing well is one of the most expected things in the universe. He wasn't "rewarded" with anything, things proceeded normally because thats normal with Vinicius. He just wasn't punished, because thats exactly the escalation that would have warranted this level of hysteria. If Xabi was an idiot he would have taken the authoritarian way and punished him, but hes not. Penalty kick protocols are flexible/contextual and always have been. And Tibo seriously? We are going to make up narratives because someone didn't say something? Youre off the rails, for real dude. Vinicius is still playing as hard and motivated to win as ever. Things didn't come off in two games. The panic mode is absolutely hilarious
He doesn't even get them on target anymore. Used to score some Golazos and even a weak shot on target has value at times like the one led to Neuer blunder. He has regressed as a player since BDR snub and it's concerning.
I'm only calling out facts. I've been following this club long enough to notice patterns to predict the actions of people in power and call out something i've seen before. You can be delusional and think that suddenly the entire club woke up and everybody changed, but i don't think so. You can clearly see we're uncomfortable on the field.
You saw this clearly from one game where we had a lot of chances to win and we regularly struggle to do so? The reason were uncomfortable has nothing to do with personal stuff and everything to do with structural imbalances that we were aware of for a long time. They will not go away in a fortnight and they may never will with this personnel. Likely no coach can fully correct that. What I see is everyone doing their best and 100 percent dedicated to the cause. Thats what matters to me. And you are wrong, things change. Different people, different times. Lessons learned. To think that Florentino will fire Xabi because of the non story of Vinicius complaining for being subbed is actually the delusional take. Or that a minimal loss at Anfield and a draw at Vallecas means the sky is falling. smh
We fired coaches because players complained about them before. If the winning isn't happening, as a coach your position is exposed. You're making this all too granular and specific when the large picture is we have a very uncomfortable team and are playing not so spectacularly. Xabi has the season to present some kind of progress and process. If he doesn't win, he gets canned.
He is currently getting high on his own supply. As somebody else here said...he thinks he's way better then he actually is. And I do believe you're on to something about him being surrounded with people who tell him pretty little lies instead of the truth. It reflects in his behavior.
Earliest that would happen is at the end of the season. Or if he has something like a 7 game losing streak, which is impossible. So why are we even discussing this now? This team would have played not so spectacularly under any coach. Everyone knows it from top to bottom. Florentino and Xabi knows this. Ancelotti is one of the best ever and they played even more unspectacularly under him. It has problems, but attitude is not one of them, and thats what youre implying. Xabi has brought an improvement. Not even Florentino is that insane or stupid to remove the guy that brought an improvement from possibly the GOAT coach.
You're missing the forrest for the trees. If there is an improvement, why is everything around the team negative right now? The press is negative, the fans are negative, the players are negative. If we'd be playing well, and delivering an enjoyable product the feeling around the team would be different. I understand that you're trying to do this cork sniffer "i see the big picture and the vision here, you guys are just led by your emotions" thing, but i really don't care. You can only apply a system if you implement it on something compatible. I've seen a lot of people comment on the radio shows that this is a team you build around the players, not around a system and you put the players in it, and that's a thought that needs deeper examination.
Because people have the memory of a goldfish. This team won 90 percent of the matches so far. It has been super fun to watch for the majority of it. Best start of a new coach in history. We thumped Valencia like a week ago. Suddenly people are acting like it happened half a year ago. Heres an examination of that thought: hes literally doing that. If he did it any more than he is, we might as well have kept Ancelotti. Because he did it to the max. But yeah sure, cork sniffer because I'm not losing my shit after two games of which we lost one minimally. Proceed with the drama then.
It's been like this for years unfortunately. When the Valencia and racist stuff was happening I still called out his behavior for what it was. Many defended him, including those at the club. I understand why, but that was the beginning of the enabling. Then came the hysterics and petulance against the officials and the other players. He flew so close to the sun and nearly got there but unfortunately was robbed of the BdR. Unfortunately, the enabling has only continued and this is what we have. He's no longer in his formative years, has developed an ego, enforced bad behavior and now he believes he has the leverage. With the later, he somehow actually seems to have the leverage in the club.
🚨 BREAKING: Real Madrid consider Vini Jr.’s extension at TOP PRIORITY. The club believes that Xabi Alonso is handling Vini’s season poorly and was being unfair to him. @carrusel @La_SER pic.twitter.com/nb4uwAZKuR— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) November 10, 2025
You are in a very exclusive club if this is your view of how the team has played and performed this season.
Until a week ago, this was the consensus. We played very attacking football but with quicker passing and more energy. xG per match last season was 1.98, now its 2.40. Shots per game last season was 16, now its 19. Stats show we cover significantly more ground. People were rejoicing how Mbappe is now pressing. What you're engaging with is revisionism, recency bias, short memory and that Madrid fan entitledness that you despise so much.
🚨 .@LaLigaTV: "Kylian Mbappé has 18 goals for Real Madrid in all competitions this season. The next on the list is Vinícius Junior with just 5.""At this point of the season, Viní should be close to double figures. There is a high dependence on Mbappé." pic.twitter.com/B2Y19WjPLV— Madrid Universal (@MadridUniversal) November 10, 2025 We sell and bring in a forward who can score 20 or more goals a season. We have a LW who’s valued at 150me and it’s so far from the truth. It’s not good enough anymore. If Xabi is persisting with a 2 man front line, and doesn’t want to revert back to 433 just to enable this child, then we bring someone in to accompany Mbappe.
You are comparing an entire season vs not even having played the entire first half of it. Talk about bias.
You are saying we are playing like shit and the sky is falling in the face of clear evidence that we are much better than last season and yes, actually playing decent and coherent football for the large majority of the time. For the sole reason you have some narrative concocted in your head and you are desperate to justify it. What Im basing my positions on this is facts, what you are basing yours is feelings. Thats the reality of it, whether you like it or not. What am I supposed to do, project that we are going to be worse at the end of the season because Xabi didn't order Vinicius to be whipped for doing Vinicius things? Thats what you seem to be doing.
System set up for him to fail has been an excuse used here by some. Just use the space in front of him rather than over dribble says Henry and Bale. Basic football. https://youtube.com/shorts/PYUsyytAi8I?si=GS9UXZetVYFAvD9E
🚨 Xabi Alonso after Vinícius Junior tried to dribble against Rayo and lost the ball: "Pass, pass, pass, pass, God d*mmit." pic.twitter.com/XhRNfQvO86— Madrid Universal (@MadridUniversal) November 11, 2025 Nothing to do with being in a system, basic football knowledge
The micro analyzing on every move Vini does and the unfair criticism is unhinged. I guess a lot of people have found their scapegoat. If you believe that letting Vini go will make the team any better I strongly doubt it to be true. Anyways time will tell, at the end of the day we all just want the team to be better.
