Ah yes, I remember when Vini emerged in Brazil how everyone said this is the new KDB. The prophecy is finally happening.

Jokes aside, Vini and Pep couldn't last a month in the same locker room.

The next KDB what the absolute f*ck there's literally nothing in common about the way those two guys play the game.

This is the club that had the BBC, Zidane-Ronaldo-Figo. If Guler is going to play as a attacking/forward player, he has to produce. It's that simple.

He's doing good but for me he looks a lot like Ozil, just not enough killer instinct. Great at making pretty passes, very elegant on the ball but very passive, doesn't take players one because he can't run past anyone and he doesn't score enough goals to compensate for his weak contributions on defense.

He's got a starting position for now but if the club had another like Bale, Isco, etc., he would get moved along like Ozil did or would be a Guti type super sub.

Truth is it is looking increasingly likely that Vini is not convinced his future is at this club, but in 5 years he will be 30, staring down another World Cup with a chance of winning a CL at an oil club and taking home a Balon d'Or.

Alot of people want to count him out already purely on a "lazy Brazilian" stereotype, but there's no indication he likes night clubs and after parties or doesn't take care of his health and fitness.

Who really thinks Xabi is still going to be the manager in 5 years? 3 years? The club migh feel pressure to sell next summer because it will be the last chance to do so, but would really suck to sell a player of his caliber to please a coach that is as of now basically on a month to month contract and is one Mbappe injury or drop in form away from losing it all.

It's not that he fits the stereotype of Brazilians that like to party but more along the lines of fitting the stereotype that he's emotionally dumb which leads him to making dumb decisions.

In fairness, he's mostly cleaned up his act on the field until the substitution and the "apology".

I mean Vinicius likes to party. He's living that life. He just also keeps himself in shape and is probably not much of a hedonist when it comes to food and drinks. But lets not pretend that he is not hitting them clubs.

If Ronaldo or Ronaldinho played in this age there probably would have been fitness technologies that could help them keep the effects of their partying at minimum too.

Randoms we never heard of popping up as sources. :D Vini himself hasn't got the renewal he wanted. Just remember what happened to Ronaldo and Ramos.

Xabi's job is only safe if we win CL, La Liga or maybe CDR like 2011, 2023 for Mou and Carlo.

From what I can recall he has his own nightclub.

You usually pay for that kind of lifestyle later.

To be honest, I don't care if he party a lot. As long as he delivers according to the amount of money he earns he can rave every night.

Has to leave in the summer if this team is to grow. Simple as that.

I think his decision making upfront needs to improve. he needs to time when to release the ball to the strikers

his good at drawing defenders to him and beating them, but then makes poor choice of passing the ball to the strikers

Mbappé is all we have ... and his not get good service.

so many time I saw him make runs but no one servicing the ball .. that should be Vini objective

He was too late to attempt a pass when Jude and Mbappe were in the box multiple times. Wonder if people around Vini baby him around like this blaming coach and other players because this pattern in his play has persisted for a while now.

Well if the Mbappe route isn't working probably time to try something new. I mean the club went trophyless last season going all in on Mbappe, surely the project dies altogether after another trophyless season,

    or...

maybe send him to the bench, send a message loud and clear to the entire squad nobody is above the group and save the season, Xabi and project Mbappe.

Yea. Bench our only reliable scorer meanwhile Vini aims for the moon every time he shoots from outside like 2019-22 era. His shooting in last couple of seasons showcases regression in overall game.

Neither Vini nor Mbappe are getting benched. It will work next match, and it will work more often as the season develops. Its absolutely ridiculous to go into panic mode after a minimal loss away at Liverpool and a draw away at Vallecano. Both could have easily been Ws with small twists of fate.

Vinicius might be a hothead but hes still very much worldclass. I can understand some of the younger fans, but many people on this board have been around for ages, at this point its embarassing to get all dramatic in fairly ordinary moments like these.

Missed shots happen when you’re the only player with the guts to take them.
Mbappe has been caught multiple times chilling near the edge of the box like it’s radioactive yet vini is the villain. Cute.

No one needs to be "benched". Rotation like before to keep everyone on the edge is fine. Mbappe playing nonstop will inevitably cause a dip in performance too. Start Gonzalo or Endrick in couple of easier home games.

Mbappe has scored plenty of long rangers at RM. The disallowed one vs Barca was a beauty too. This X vs Y thing when pointing out Vini's shooting issues have returned doesn't make sense.

Vini clearly got better with his shooting from 2021-24 because he worked on it. But that improvement not seen for a while now. I hope he's working on getting back to that level rather than blame Xabi, Mbappe and kitman like some here.

Mbappe joined us on 16.07.2024, we're two months away from 2026.

Any moment now, magic will happen. Just keep believing.
