Yeah, imagine being such a burning clown car of emotions that you’re literally doubling Europe’s next best player in chance creation. Truly a burden to the sport. :(

Someone call a therapist before he accidentally bags most assists this season.

I think that was a very specific stat

chances created he is further down the line

Different metrics in football that regardless tell the same story. The original stat was carries leading to chances meaning he creates danger by himself, not padding numbers with corners. Still vicious in the attack.

Oh he is amazing at creating chaos down that wing. Just clarifying that he’s not doubling people on chances created, but off chances carrying the ball. At the end of the day, a chance created is a chance created.

Anyways being a great player doesn’t excuse bad behavior and I hope that’s not the narrative you are trying to create.

Vini aside, I’ve always hated the point of views of “well, that’s just him. You know how he is. He is passionate! He’s emotional!” I causing bad behavior because of repeated behavior while others that don’t lash out are held to a higher standard because they never act like idiots

Vini behaved like an idiot and has done so more than once and a million chances created won’t change that.

so I don’t care about the apology or how it was handled. Just care that it’s done and over with. No more idiocy should be tolerated whether he is “emotionally charged” or not

Sure – no more idiocy should be tolerated, as high standards should be aimed for in all cases and for everyone. However, acts that would comprise such "idiocy" should have a high threshold as far as I'm concerned. So let's not throw him under the bus for having a go at the ref or an opponent every now and then, just like we don't throw players like Jude (who's had quite some moments, even against his own teammates) and Carvajal under the bus. Let's be consistent.

Nobody is saying greatness gives a free pass. The point is proportionality. Vini losing his temper (in the circumstances under which coach decided to pull him out) isn’t some moral apocalypse. It is football, not a monastery.

You can demand better composure and still recognize he’s targeted and often provoked which makes him get under a microscope every second he breathes. At least his “idiocy” gets tangible outcomes n wins matches while some folks manage to stay calm and still contribute nothing.

Oh yeah this is not a jail or the military. I’m talking about things that go over the line like this clearly did. Apologies are meaningless of behavior doesn’t correct itself

His emotional stuff has also lost us games because he gets baited into having bad games.
He just needs to figure it out. He is a brilliant player but he has to hold himself accountable as that is the first and most important step towards improvement.

Imagine being such a burning car of emotions that even when you triple the next guy in ball carries that lead to chances across Europe, half your own fan base honestly wouldn't mind shipping you off to God knows where just to get some piece of mind.

    You are ridiculous.
We all agree Vini is an amazing athlete and player.
We all agree we want nothing more than to see him strive and be the best and help us out a lot.
I think he makes more damage for RM off the field than on at the moment and that's a huge problem.

Nobody has said he is a burden to the sport or any of the crap your talking about, hope he would just stop questioning his bosses decisions in front of 1000s of cameras.

Also, just to make this clear, there is NOTHING Vini could do on the field to later justify the way he walked out of that field.... Absolutly ridiculous. I was ashamed to follow such a player even for 3 minutes. If you think that's acceptable from our players well: NEWSFLASH, ITS NOT

The better Mbappé gets the worse Vini is going to be. Vini had that amazing season a couple years ago because there was no other natrual striker. He had a amazing season with Benzema because he played his role as a provider.

I don't think he can play that provider role for Mbappé without feeling like he's second fiddle.

I think hes having an excellent season so far. Not quite the level of his BDO season, but better than probably any LW in the world.

As good as he has been over the last few weeks, his finishing (including PKs) remain subpar. Sure, he can score some impossible goals at times but his overall execution technique and finesse need a lot of work.

The obsession comes when people act like an odd tantrum erases years of brilliance and growth.
Ridiculous is thinking a 20 second flash of temper defines a player who’s carried this club through entire seasons. You’re clutching your pearls like the badge melted because he frowned at the wrong time. He was wrong, he owned it,and Xabi moved on. Maybe you should try that part too.

Penalties are the football edition of defusing explosives, after a week of arguing about his lack of composure and control, he's on the trigger to take one.

    Conflicting narratives.

It certainly wasn’t planned and Xabi looked pissed off! Imagine he had to, yet again, address that in the room.

    This season, Id say

    Vini
    Diaz
    Leao
    Kvara
    Doku

    In that order

Diaz man. He can be soooo good but at this point, I don’t think he can become a clinical finisher. Dude is guaranteed to miss some easy ones. But he does everything else so well that no manager seems to mind it as he keeps playing

Doku easily 3rd. Also Liverpool are fools for letting Diaz go.
