Guler plays either the 10 or right AM for Turkey. So it's his best role. He's not the CF and won't be in the 442 with Madrid. Mbappe will be the striker with room to roam. Jude will attack the box as well. Guler plays right behind them or next to Jude from the right, which is where he excels. You can either play Endrick, Guler or Brahim. Guler and Brahim reinforce your midfield play more. Endrick gives you a second striker. Up to Carlo. If Endrick had gotten more playing time early in the season... he'd be the best profile. But given that he hasn't played, you're adapting it to include Brahim or Guler.
This is the most sensible option but I'm concerned about his minutes given he just got back from international duty too....
Namibian voter who didn't vote Vini in the Top 10 is a Barcelona fan. Embarassing some can't be a bit objective about their job. 1861492039843467496 is not a valid tweet id
The guy that gives the spanish votes practically writes the club's daily fan magazine. No way in hell Marca should be anywhere near giving votes but they are "the biggest sports publication in Spain", which explains so much about why things are how they are.
Tbh I don't have a problem with that. These awards thrive on the people's simplicity, otherwise they are already a circus WWE style, although it feels good to see your favorite players winning them.
I'd love them to be completely statistically reliant. Florentino says "competent people should vote for these awards" which just comes off as "we just want people that vote for our guys" effectively. Is the pichichi and the Zamora not a perfectly working award? Could you imagine voting on the pichichi like "OK, you scored 45 goals, but I don't like you so much as a human being so I vote for a guy that scored 12". I just think statistical awards are flawless.
Vini really is the best in the world. We were completely toothless without him last night. That being said, let’s not rush him back. We need him to help us qualify for UCL. Apparently he’s running with the ball already….but let’s not play him this weekend in la liga.
We got our doors blown off by Barca and cooked by Milan at home. With Vini on the field. He's part of the team that looked like total losers vs Barca. We don't give free passes.
Well you could also say the team's tactics was to set Mbappe on his way against Barca which in hindsight was the wrong strategy given Vini is better at holding his run and finishing. Vini topped the game against Milan in chances created. Put the ball on the platter for Brahim who could only head straight at the keeper. He was our best player and the only one to come out of that game without blame. I think we're still trying to make Mbappe the focal point. I think when we accept that he can't be our focal point and let him take a backseat behind Vini and Jude like ironically against Osasuna we'll start performing better. The performance against Liverpool was a disgrace given we'd actually turned a corner in recent weeks and started to play much much better. Vini has 18 G/As this season, that's incredible given that I can't name a single player who isn't out of form right now apart from Camavinga, the goalies and Valverde.
True but you know very well an in form Vini last night would have provoked a couple of goals… We would have been 5x more dangerous on the break…
Just last month people took the discussion Kroos had with Klopp as "Klopp is a salty loser" but when we come up with excuses it's in depth discussion at the highest level. Give me a break.
Wait....you think me saying that we would have gotten something out of the game (despite playing like crap) if the best player in world was playing is some sort of excuse? No one sane is denying that we're horrible at the moment (and all season to be fair)......just saying the game was there for the taking despite that if our attack was competent ....which it wasn't. we've won plenty of games under Carlo while playing horrendous....exactly because of Vini etc..
The thing is we might just be that one or two piece of the puzzle short of this being possible though. We might be winning with one player having a great performance, but even with that factor being a constant, it won't be a achieved with a defense short on alternatives and a midfield that hasn't really found a reliable shape yet. The stage was set for a player to take the team to glory, but now even if that player provides that kind of performance, the foundation on top of which it happens simply isn't enough to support a positive outcome.
That's fair. There's issues other than Mbappe...that's clear. Club planning this summer was strange: - You win 2 out of the last 3 UCL....the one you didn't win, you only go out in the semis. - This means by default that your players have probably got the most mileage on them. - you get several major injuries last season. - you're about to go into possibly the longest season ever. - you lose a key player in Kroos - you lose critical squad players like Nacho and Joselu... - you have several squad players on their last legs....Lucas V, Modric - in defence you have Alaba who's injury is horrible and he's +30 years old - you have Militao who's on the mend from a major injury... - you've struggled in the full back position for a few years already... How do you not buy at least a CB + a Right Back ??
The funniest thing was we chased after a CB for about 6-8 months, got outbid/had him snatched away from under our noses and just pouted and said "OK then NOBODY it is". Just absurdly immature attitude.
He really was needed tonight. His goal and assist were very important in getting us the win. Should probably let him train individually for a couple of weeks. Can't have him picking up niggling injuries just because we rush him back.
I actually forgot that it was Vini who provided the assist for Bellingham. It was not the first time he was coming in deep to get the ball so this must have been a key strategy today. Classic Vini to have been so horrendous with turnovers today and still finding a way to be decisive.
