The narrative was set ages ago by the people who are capable of such, as i said, Gavi is a wonderful brilliant young talent.......
I don't think anybody really gives a f*** about Gavi. You might even say mentioning them in the same sentence is pretty insulting to Vini.
lol not really bro I know at least ten people who don’t think he is an elite player I’ve never seen a case like this
Probably late to this but the person who voted in the Balon d'Or in Finland has resigned from the committee - they voted for Vini but it didn't go through due a technical error lol
Actually he said he caused the error, that it was his mistake. Rodri, Haaland, Bellingham, Kroos, Wirtz, Rice, Yamal, Saliba, Lookman, Carvajal Those were his votes by the way.
🚨 Most G/A in 2024 by players in top 3 leagues - all competitions.Viní Jr… 🔥🔝 @Score90_ pic.twitter.com/8OTT6DrlML— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) November 11, 2024
🗣️ Dorival Júnior (Brazil coach): “Ballon d’Or? In my opinion, it’s an unfair situation. If there was a decisive, sharp and lethal athlete, whose talent was shown, it was Vini Jr. I have nothing against the winner, he stood out a lot, but Vini deserved special recognition.” pic.twitter.com/URK5rsZTh5— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) November 13, 2024 🗣️ Dorival Júnior (Brazil coach): “Perhaps the greatest prize that Vinicius has received is the recognition and respect of his people. The great majority of the Brazilian people realized the injustice [Ballon d’Or].” pic.twitter.com/2x9N92nMAi— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) November 13, 2024
Vanderlei Luxemburgo made some controversial statements against the Real Madrid footballer in which he criticised his behaviour on the pitch. “Vinicius provokes the persecution he denounces” “He gets kicked and then Vini gets up and attacks the player as if a kick cannot be given. Imagine how many kicks Pelé received, imagine how many Zico received. He gets irritated with the kicks as if it were a persecution for being black." https://as.com/futbol/internacional...-denuncia-n/?utm_rs=IL_qXa7_l-_QWSeXmnlatKYlQ
Of course not, he's such a nice boy on the pitch a supposed boy wonder for one of the biggest clubs in the world and the Spanish national team, ......yup, nobody cares
Literally 0 people out of 100s voted for Gavi in positions 1 to 10 in the Balon d'Or voting. Out of 1000s of votes, he got 0. I don't see why he's relevant in this discussion. You need to activelly search for an opinion on Gavi to find one.
Vini arguably has two years to figure out the national team troubles, because there's no escaping a world cup media cycle. On the other hand, who knows whats what in 2026.
What sucks is that a lot of voters only watch international football and what they see from Vini there are all his worst flaws
I don't really see it from this perspective, Vini's biggest critics are actually sitting at home. @celito and @hector_br can certainly provide further insight but if Brazil disappoint the energy will surely be "to hell with this loser". Somebody wrote me a message "this guy is the best player in the world huh?" because we were going back and forther about Vini and he was telling me he only looks good because the team is better in Madrid and i was insisting that HE actually makes it good. 'I didn't even know Brazil were playing, but i personally think that yellow shirt is heavy heavy.
Well that’s actually the point no? I got several messages in group chats from non racists which seems to be the story here who said he is not only terrible but a disgrace on the field. Club football is so busy that people dont watch him regularly in la liga and just how brilliant he is, and all they see is some of his bad games, especially with Brazil, and cap it off with his shenanigans and judge him based on that. The truth is, a lot of people simply don’t like him. But oh well, he is our guy and we know how good he is, he loves the club, he leaves it all on the field, he carries us. People don’t have to like him, he is our giy
Ironically i think the closest comp to Vini is Robben. Similar enough in playstyle and attitude. Vini is a bit more refined in several aspects but both of them were great but could likely never look the part when it comes to winning individual awards.
Robben only won CL once and Bayern's PR pushed for Ribery that season than Robben. Ronaldo won because of BDR and FIFA WPOTY voting was combined then. Ribery had won journalists vote but got beat comfortably in NT captain's and coaches vote. Cannavaro wouldn't have sniffed at BDR if not for 2006 WC. Dinho dominated league season winning the double but flopping in WC cost him BDR that year. Similar to Vini winning double and having a forgettable Copa. Winning best player of 2018 WC helped Modric to beat Ron. Fact is summer tornaments are key to these awards unless you are Messi or Ronaldo. So Vini's best chance to win BDR is either perform well for Brazil in Copa/WC or win CL in a season there is no NT summer tournament. Rodri wouldn't be a contender had Spain lost the final and Jude would have been BDR fav had England won. Margins can be that slim.
Winning the Balon d'Or is a purely coincidental award at times. Vinicius being the star of Brazil is arguably an even higher demand than winning that. The standard and pressure that comes with that is brutal.
Regardless the man was robbed on stupid criteria of placing international tournaments ahead of full seasons and for being a big of jerk on the field. Those are both stupid reasons. He is clearly a better player than Rodri
