Listen I'm hard af on Vini for how he is with Brazil but I feel like people are forgetting he just turned 24. He has plenty of time to get his sht together for the NT. I do think with Dorival at the helm, this cycle is a waste but at the very least, after 2026, he has 2 copas and a WC to compete in. I also think (and I said this a few pages ago I believe) he needs to see a therapist. His on the field behavior for both Brazil and RM seem to be a bit concerning.
He was great at clubs, sure, but he had a special connection with the NT and that yellow shirt. Of course Brazilian media played a huge part in turning him into a national hero, but the connection was naturally there.
When things are going well his head is screwed on tight and he's the best player in the world. When things get chaotic and tough he channels the ghost of Cassano.
He's an excellent player. When it's all said and done he'll have contributed to something ridiculous like 40 goals for our season. There's a feeling of great not being good enough right now and I don't know what to think of it.
I think we just got spoiled with Messi Cristiano and to a degree in a short period of time Neymar and even a bit of Mbappe That the idea that Vini is the best player in the world, seems a bit crazy to many people when they watch him play and he has one of his bad games. i think people lost a sense of reality. I ask them if not him then who? They have no answer. They just say this can’t possibly be the best
There was a time when Reyes (RIP) and Joaquin were some of the best wingers in the game. Vini's ceiling for me is Henry and the floor is Joaquin. He will not be Ronaldo or Messi or whatever, but Vinicius the way he is is good enough to start for this team until he naturally declines due to age
Something tells me if he were playing for somebody else the same people wishing for replacements would ask why we don't find guys like that
@J-Mezzy kind of hit the nail on the head. I understand that he won't be Cristiano level and probably no one will in my lifetime but his trajectory is so up and down. Undeniably a great player who has even improved his shooting in the last season. What's left is for him to mature emotionally and he'll become one of the best to play the game. I just struggle to see how he can get there.

Yep, hypocrites. We see it all the time. For instance they get mad at any athlete for being "arrogant" yet show arrogance themselves but of course have no reason for exuding such lol. They want to get a reaction. He gives them one. They get mad because how dare he! While forgetting they're the instigators... looking for the initial reaction. Victims.
They should take an example from Madrid fans, who have never insulted, boohed or whistled a player ever. When opponents play at the Bernabeu they get a standing ovation with every pass. World famous how we give opponents ole ole passages when they move the ball well to show them we appreciate the football. Jokes aside, it's safe to say we'll get it how we give it. Next time somebody will hush the Bernabeu crowd and the roles will be reversed with Madrid fans getting mad about it.
Raul did it at the Camp Nou. Maybe some have done it at the Bernabeu. Great players at big clubs win a lot so odds are in their favour.

Funny considering who that's coming from and the kind of language he uses towards other players. Nothing is sacred to Dani, but I understand he has to defend his team mate first and foremost. Let's remember that while Marcelo was announcing his departure from the club, large parts of the fanbase found it extremely appropriate to sing "Mbappe is a son of a ****".
I don't have a problem with insults being thrown at players, it's part of the game and you see that kind of "banter" everywhere. The fans should be able to take it when Vini does score and celebrate though, it works both ways. The line stops at any sort of racism though, that is not questioned. I don't think Racial slurs were being thrown at Vini though.
The fans (and Pedja) raise a point that for a guy that says "I just want to play and have fun" Vinicius constantly interacts with the fans, whether it's waving his arms for people to get louder at the Bernabeu or stuff like "I can't hear you" at away games. It's not quite right or wrong here to be honest. It's clear he likes the attention and the showmanship is part of his game.
You’re maintaining this weird logic that because Real Madrid fans and Real Madrid as a club is not perfect, that our players should consider this at all times before responding to anything. I mean you’re bringing up the Mbappe chants from Real Madrid fans, you’ve brought up the fact that a large chunk of Real Madrid fans historically lean towards right hand side of politics or whatever within Madrid, that Santiago Bernabeu was a Franco enthusiast in his earlier years. All are true. Can you tell me what your point is exactly, that Vinicius should think about these topics before he responds to anything that comes his way from opposing fans?
It’s clearly part of his personality, I mean when he came through we were all hooked immediately to this kid, everyone was, he was fearless in every sense of the word and everyone could see that obviously, not just Real Madrid fans. Fast forward many years later, it shouldn’t be a surprise that this guy isn’t afraid of the attention, the pressure etc.
