We're in #MUSTWIN mode. Clock in or something. And goal the damn ball, you fools. Discuss.
Alas, no chance of Abou Ali coming back for the playoffs. If we were to progress past Cincy, Farsi would be a possibility. There has just been such sh*tty news all season that I haven’t felt like talking about it (any of it) for the last few months.
Says a lot that you leave a DP on the bench for a playoff game either he was fit to start or it’s an admission that the balance of the squad isn’t there.
I feel like Gazdag needs to pair with an actual 9 to play to his strengths. The problem is we only have one 9 that is available, and from his last few performances, I don't feel he's all that playable for serious minutes.
Or, ro put it another way, you leave $2.5 million of salary in a restricted spending situation sitting there holding a nice comfy chair down.
I said in the roster thread a month ago that if the Crew are serious about doing this rebuild the right way, part of it is buying him out or paying someone else to take him. You can't have the guy occupying a DP spot for the next 2-3 years. It makes it impossible to sign the type of player he needs to be effective. Bite the bullet and move on.
We would have to buy him out. DC paid atlanta to take on Klich, and DC still had to list him as a DP this year.
Yeah, but the alternative is to go "sure, we know this signing hasn't worked out, and he's probably not the right guy for the job, but since we're paying him the money already, we're going to start him in the most important matches of the year."
This is devolving into a roster thread discussion, but will Nancy and Tall’s egos get in the way of making that hard decision on Gazdag and if not, wouldn’t their admission of failure give them a black eye with the Haslams? Gressel, Jones, and Gazdag are 3 big name, big expense guys they’ve brought in that didn’t work out.
Youre right of course but its not exactly a secret that its done all the time, in order for the management to save face after a stupid deal.
I think you give Gazdag the offseason and see how it goes with Wessam and already have a summer replacement target/s lined up incase it doesn’t pan out
While I think Ali is certainly out for Game 2, I did not see anything in that post that necessarily would rule him out for a Game 3, or a potential Round 2, which is 3 weeks away. Farsi training on the side is actually good news. Again, no chance for Game 2,,but maybe Game 3 and a real shot at Round 2 if we get there. Am I missing something? Edit: nevermind. I didn't notice who was posting.
What color will we wear ? Black hell is real kits ? Or Heritage kits? I say go with the kit we beat them in early this year !
Well if we're going down, lets go down fighting and screaming our guts out. We can still send this back to Kentucky.
This might be my last game in my great seats before the rezoning. I hope it's not, but I plan to go down screaming at worst.
