Just saying, one of the unfortunate things I've seen in this space is when many of these Twitter accounts blatantly grab their info from BigSoccer, which is obviously completely fine and even ideal for the community, but then they act like they're the ones putting in the research without giving any love back to the forum. Now this doesn't apply to many, though for those that it does... man does that leave a sour taste considering the amazing passion put forth by users here. Sometimes even noting a small "saw this on BigSoccer" or similar thing could help grow this tremendously valuable place further, and that would be a healthy thing as a whole.
Undoubtedly. There are degrees of this, obviously, but -- do better, people. Even if all you have to add to a conversation is gratitude, a little goes a long way.
Trying to think who's going to be in Champions League this autumn among Yanks abroad. Pulisic, Dest, Reyna, McKennie, Chandler, Carter-Vickers, and Otasowie all qualified. Not as many as last season (10), but better than I thought after losing Adams, Aaronson, Weah, Brooks, and Steffen. Probably Carter-Vickers has got the best chance to start among this group. Pulisic and Dest would need to push their performances to get ahead of their competitors. Otasowie, well we'll get a clue in coming weeks if he can earn some significant playing time in league games then it might be worth checking in on his games. Sands, Tillman, Ledezma, and Wingo are in the 3rd round of qualifiers. Sands, Tillman would meet Ledezma in playoff round if both their clubs advance. So still a chance to add one, two , or three players. Sands and Tillman have better chances of playing, so I'd root for Rangers.
We promote threads. Everyone likes that. But can we please start relegating threads? I don’t want the first page of the forum dominated by threads of guys that got a game or two in a top league a decade ago but are now playing in the third division somewhere. Bless those one or two posters that keep those threads alive, but surely they should be relegated back out of the main forum. Right?
The death of Queen Elizabeth II is set to throw UK fixtures into turmoil as they enter a period of mourning. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/death-queen-sparks-spfl-uefa-27944112 As it stands SPFL fixtures will go ahead this weekend. However, plans are in place to postponed Scottish Premiership, Championship, League One and League Two games once funeral arrangements are announced. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/foo...-League-postponements-Queen-Elizabeth-II-dies https://www.nationalworld.com/sport...es-premier-league-efl-health-concerns-3836390 [The EFL] statement read: “As a mark of respect, following the passing of Her Majesty, The Queen Elizabeth II earlier today, the EFL has confirmed that its fixtures scheduled for tomorrow evening (Friday 9 September) – Burnley v Norwich City and Tranmere Rovers v Stockport County - have been postponed. “A determination regarding the remainder of this weekend’s scheduled fixtures will be made following a review of the official mourning guidance, in addition to further consultation with DCMS and other sports on Friday morning.” It looks like EFL fixtures will be postponed this weekend though SPL will continue their schedule for now with future postponements likely.
All pro matches on Friday postponed, including PL2: I’m told that the Premier League have now informed clubs all professional development games scheduled for tomorrow (PL2 etc) are off. Have also said clubs will get an update on weekend fixtures by noon tomorrow.— Mike Keegan (@MikeKeegan_DM) September 8, 2022

Some EPL matches won't happen, including Chrystal Palace, Leeds & Chelsea. Save yourselves a bit of time. They’ve postponed:Brighton v Crystal PalaceChelsea v Liverpool Man Utd v Leeds Because that makes sense…and doesn’t disadvantage them with a more congested fixture list later.— Dec (@CFCdetails) September 12, 2022
Haven't looked closely into this, but apparently a small German club is hosting a bunch of players from the U.S. and elsewhere. https://www.nwzonline.de/plus-clopp...ere-kulturen-verbindet_a_51,9,2783643800.html
This is rather vaguely connected to YA but felt amusing enough to be worth noting: Lukas Podolski is apparently now co-hosting a German radio show with an American-born, German-based media personality named Reece Moore.
An interesting situation with a team of American youth players being in residency at Schalke that could lead to a little confusion: After the successful premiere season 2021/2022, the partnership with the International Soccer Academy (ISA) and the Knappenschmiede will enter the next round in the 2022/2023 season! From August 2022 to May 2023, an American U18 team will be guests at the Knappenschmiede. This team includes 18 US talents who were selected in advance by the ISA and the scouts of the Knappenschmiede in the USA. The players between the ages of 16 and 18 stay in Germany for one season and train under professional conditions on the Schalke club premises. https://schalke04.de/knappenschmiede/mannschaften/u18-integrated-academy-team/ The roster: Faidy Elkhouri, Alex Muzyka, Owen Tuttle, Patryk Brulinski, Connor Louden, Quinlan McKinney, Daxton Andrus, Roscoe Rubinstein, Demetri Xidias, Justin Dorner, Samuel Hunsaker, Colin McGinnity, Jalen Guadalupe, Noah Gillinder, Michael Divano, Miles Mukherjea-Gehrig, Orlando Polendo, Baeden Marott, Anderson Agudelo, Davis Scharfeld
This (German) article is paywalled but what I can see seems to imply that Hamburger SV is looking into... something U.S.-related. https://www-abendblatt-de.translate..._sl=de&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp
Apologies if this has been posted in the past, but this is an interesting discussion of post-Brexit UK work permit rules for EPL and lower-league teams: https://worldfootballindex.com/2020...e-post-brexit-english-clubs-efl-libertadores/
This is a pay-to-pay licensed effort, it seems, so take from what what you will, but still an interesting look at an FFF-affiliated program in NYC. https://www.ft.com/content/f791adbc-fed5-4818-ae30-3de1bf2fd709
If you've noticed a lot of apparent Yanks at Borea Dresden, this seems to be at least part of the reason why. https://www.borea-dresden.org/verein/english/
This also may be pay-to-play, not sure, but: Elko senior soccer player Miguel Abarca will play the sport he loves but by another name in land far, far away. Where he is going, it’s known as futbol. Abarca has been accepted to and will play for FC Odisea Academy, in Castellon de la Plana, Spain. https://elkodaily.com/sports/high-s...cle_88c570a8-a2b1-11ed-b1ed-6bff01e9c0ae.html cc @Balerion.
Orange County SC announced a partnership with Feyenoord: https://www.orangecountysoccer.com/...ty-sc-partners-with-european-giant-feyenoord/ Orange County Soccer Club has agreed a long-term partnership with Dutch Eredivisie giants Feyenoord, which lays out a collaborative and mutually beneficial approach to player loans, development and talent identification—adding value and impacting growth for both teams. Not sure that it will be that easy to send over players for loans considering the high salary requirements for non-EU/EEA players for the Eredivisie, but we shall see.

Te Kloese mentions in Feyenoord Magazine a player of under 18 yo, who first will go into development at Orange County and then will be on his way to us. Got no clue who he's talking about.
