I now remember the old Miami Fusion being the closet thing to this. The owners were supposed to pony up every so often and that owner couldn't. Was the biggest reason Miami was one of the two teams contracted. The Burn were on the chopping block with the knife falling when Lamar Hunt finally took an interest in them and saved them while Tampa got a last second death sentence. The stuff about other leagues not paying players, not paying teams for players or your story above don't and won't happen here.
The team has been busy to prior to the Belgian Transfer window closing. Along with Mighten, they have added 34 year old Craig Cathcart from Watford, an center back.
One more defender Ryan Alebiousu from Arsenal U21's joined the team. That is three defenders right at the end. It is possible that Mighten might be on a team that actually win a match.
17 Sep Kortrijk vs Anderlecht 10:00 EST Not on ESPN + I would assume Mighten will get time in the match. It will be interesting to see how Kortrijk lines up with so many additions to the squad.
Comes on in the 93rd for a club and Jupiler league debut. However, they concede at the death and settle for a draw.
Goals are up and start at 16:30 Looks like Mighten had a chance to block the final Anderlecht goal. But it was really well taken.
23 Sep Sporting Charleroi vs Kortrijk 10:00 Not on ESPN + Mighten came on as a sub last match, I would anticipate another week of that, then move into the starting line-up. Two crushing pieces of news this week for the club. Late signing Craig Cathart who had joined the club at the end of the transfer period decided to retire instead of playing for Kortrijk. He would have helped a lot on defense. The larger and more long term one is that the sale of the club fell through. The owners of Burnley have decided not to purchase the club. This is the 2nd failed purchase this year.
Really odd match for Mighten. He entered the match in the 61'. Then was subbed out in the 79th. I am not sure if there was an injury or it was a tactical decision. The match finished 1-0 for Charleroi.
I hope it is not a bad one. That is a terrible week for Kortrijk. The sale falls through. One of their summer signings decides to retire and now Mighten's injury. Not good news for a team who needs any good news they can.
Kkortrijk fires Ed Still. That means he has been fired 3 times in the last 12 months by different Belgian clubs.
21 Oct Kortrijk vs Club Brugge 10:00 On ESPN + It is possible that Mighten could be in the squad in a return from his injury.
29 Oct Kortrijk vs Genk 14:15 Not on ESPN + Mighten should make the bench again. This is a big match for both teams.
1 Nov Dender vs Kortrijk 14:00 am Not on ESPN + Cronky Cup I would imagine he is on the bench and is a 2nd half substitute.
