Just confirmed Winger, Alex Mighten was born in Connecticut and eligible to represent the United States. Alex made ten first-team appearances last season for Forest and has just signed a new contract with the club until June 2025. Alex has only represented England YNT up to this point - but good to have confirmation he is eligible. Add him to the depth chart! DOB: April 11th, 2002 Yes Alex holds dual citizenship and eligible for both countries.— CAA Stellar Soccer (@caastellarna) August 24, 2020
He is provisionally cap-tied to England after playing in U17 Euro Qualifiers - so put this one away for a couple of years. Still nice to have confirmation
Alex has an older brother who was a GK playing NCAA D3 soccer last fall. His college bio says he was born in "Nottingham, Connecticut," which I'm not sure is an actual place, though it would be pretty cool to be both from and born in two different Nottings Ham. https://medaillesports.com/sports/mens-soccer/roster/david-mighten/3751 Some sites say Alex was born in Nottingham, and the agent's tweet quoted above confirmed the passport but not the birthplace. With that said, an online resume for what I figure is his dad would definitely place Mr. Mighten in Connecticut around the time, if not at the exact moment, when the boys were born. Alex also has another brother who is not named Darryl and does not appear to be playing high-level soccer.
It's a fact of life that some people of a certain generation just can't hear the words "brother" and "Darryl" without referencing or at least remembering this gag... and I'm one of those people.
That was of course the only thing that popped into my head. I loved Newhart's comedy, dry as hell. Guy's still kickin at 90 years old according to wikipedia.

Forest have sacked their coach and replaced him with veteran coach (and former Republic of Ireland stalwart) Chris Hughton, who has a very good record at this level. In his last four seasons coaching at this level, no team finished lower than 4th place. Could be ballin' in the EPL this time next year.
