For those who want an impartial opinion on Gomez's most current performance, I attached a chronicle of game against Porto from a sports newspaper in Portugal (Can't suspect the Portuguese press to have strong feelings for or against Mexicans) which includes each player's performance ratings ranging from 0 to 5.
Thanks, he didn't seem all that bad. That's a good sign especially for an 18 year old that just moved to a new team and league.

Gómez was subbed in at the 68th minute. Boavista was up 1-0 at the time, game ends in a 1-1 tie. Don't know if he was involved in the play that led to the Paços de Ferreira goal.
Este muchacho es demasiado talentoso, tarde o temprano le irá mejor. Tiene que seguir adaptándose al fútbol europeo, el futbol portugués es muy diferente al fútbol mexicano y mucho más exigente. Jugar ante el Benfica SUB 23 es mejor experiencia que jugar ante el América o Monterrey en México. Lo único malo que le veo es que es muy lento, pero igual, es muy joven y puede ir agarrando fuerza y potencia con el paso del tiempo.

Se quedó colgado en el gol. Aunque fue una jugada muy difícil, muy rápida, a lo fútbol europeo, centro raso muy violento y un gran movimiento de Nuno Santos. El pase lo dio Nuno Mendes, tiene 18 años y es un animal por la banda izquierda. Igual, Gómez, en algunas salidas a cubrir a Jovane Cabral cometió falta. Es una gran experiencia, el Sporting ahora mismo trae muy bien nivel y varios cracks.
