Brand New Cadillac - again. Clash fans - check out this October's Mojo magazine. A free CD is on the front with songs that influenced The Clash (lots of reggae of course), a cool, almost folk version of "I'm Not Down" sung by a woman i've never heard of and the final track, Joe & The Mescaleros doing "White Man in Hammersmith Palais" live.
In the run off, 6 votes for (against?) Revolution Rock, 2 votes for Card Cheat. Bye bye, Revolution Rock. Current song list: 1. London Calling 2. Brand New Cadillac 3. Jimmy Jazz 4. Hateful 5. Rudie Can't Fail 6. Spanish Bombs 7. Right Profile 8. Lost in the Supermarket 9. Clampdown 10. Guns of Brixton 11. Wrong 'Em Boyo 12. Death or Glory 13. Koka Kola 14. Card Cheat 16. Four Horsemen 17. I'm Not Down 19. Train in Vain
Guns of Brixton. Yeah well shoot me, but I never did think Paul Simonon was much cop on vocals - plus , well reggea aint my thang
would everyone please stop voting for Brand New Cadillac. Just cos it's not an original, it still feels uniquely "Clash like". And it always reminds me of the repo man for some obscure reason
You have to vote for something. And, I dare say, there is some strategery involved. I don't want Card Cheat off, so I am voting for something that might get more votes. See how it works? And dang, man, it's London Calling. It's a good album.
New to the game... I'm surprised Koka Kola made it this long. This is the kind of song that programmable cd players were made for. I've never played this game before, but it's going to get ugly when we have to choose between Guns of Brixton and Clampdown. Geez, if there ever was a time to abstain...
