Can anyone tell me how Albright did this year? He seemed to only have 1 point in about 600 minutes. He played with United and I believe I did permanent damage to my vocal chords yelling at him. I am not sure a more frustrating player ever played. Anyway those like me that thought he just wasn't a MLS caliber player were in the minority on the United boards and most folks there thought that under Sigi he'd be much better. On stats alone it would seem he still isn't good, but I'd love to hear from those of you that saw him. thanks.
He's getting better. He's one notch above sucking. But I'd say it's OK for Sigi to keep giving the kid a chance. (I say this while we're winning, of course). Topper
Same old Albright. Flashes of brilliance, prolonged periods of inexplicable bad touches. He's running hard and working, but it's frustrating when he goes through all the hard work to put himself in a good position, and then trips over himself and touches the ball out of bounds. Over and over.
I was one of the people at DC United that thought Albright needed a change of scenery, and hoped that Sigi could do a better job of developing him. While at United I think the one big problem he had was finishing. Other than that he did fine. He seemed to always shoot just wide of the post or usually over the crossbar. If I were Sigi, I'd mandate that he head every ball DOWN, keep all of his shots below waist level, and aim 3 feet inside of the goal post. He'd probably shoot a lot directly at the keeper, but getting them on frame would also probably result in a decent amount of goals. At United Albright used to make intelligent runs, use his speed to spring counters, make nice crosses, and get his head on crosses. He also played more defense than most forwards. But he was never fit for more than 75 minutes, and given his workrate, that's just not enough. His goal for you guys against KC was awesome. -Tron
Good things about albright- he hsutles and runs bad things- he runs with no puropse, horible first and last touch, he plays for the galaxy We should trade him for a bottle of gatorade
In the last 10 games or so, he has made smart runs wide left and put himself in great positions, but his crosses are aimless, and too often he doesn't even get off a cross because he lets the ball run out of bounds. I've no problems with his work rate, the runs he makes, or his attitutde. I just wish that one time he'd hit a good cross. He races into the left corner, I stand up cheering, he dribbles out of bounds, and I sit down wondering what he is thinking. Seriously, that happens 4 times a match.
I went to many games this season and I thought he did a good job MAKING runs and creating an offensive threat!!!!! Your just jealous that Chris is on a winning team!!! he is also the hottest person I have ever seen in my life!!!!!! Thats all I have 2 say to you. Im leaving because you are getting on my nerves. (Erin's friend Marrissa Albright) Erin
i feel the same way.... most of the time when he gets the ball, i just wait for him to funk up somehow... and most of the time he does
Well, I thought his performance today in the final was subpar, as expected. I slammed my cap a couple of times out of frustration of that guy.
Yeah, especially when he started the Cup winning play by playing an outside of the foot slicing ball to Hendrikson who played it to Ruiz for the winner.. Good call dude...
As much as everyone hates him...he DID help set up the play! (like you said) and he has done some good things for us! I will NEVER forget Meola's face....GD, that was good!!!!!!!!
