Thanks for the link. Albright isnt the best defender in the league but i admit he doest put out the effort no matter what position he plays.

It would be comfortable to have a backline of:

    Albright - Xavier - Marshall - Jazic

And it will be even more comfortable to have a backline of:

    Albright-----------Xavier--------------Harden--------------Jazic

Harden is in his rookie year, and has aquitted himself. . . fairly well. Not shut-down, lights-out - but he's been doing pretty well for a rookie. That said, he has years of quality ahead of him.

This is what I've seen of Marshall so far this year.

Version 1 - Marshall dribbles out into the middle third of the field, gets stripped, and- at BEST- he fouls the opponent with the ball. At worst, he tries to foul and misses.

Version 2 - Marshall tries to pass the ball into the middle third of the field. The ball is easily intercepted. Marshall then fouls the opposing team's player to teach them a lesson.

I dont know what to think of the rumor, I mean we do need another goalscorer up top but just the sheer heart that Albright puts in warrants him staying with us. Anyway, I would want fish to come back but not if we have to give up Albright. Fish for Jaqua and Marshall , now that I could live with

Seeing how surprised Chris Albright was about the rumor and since Lalas said the team was not actively seeking a trade and apparently over at FCD their coaching staff was surprised about the rumor - how does Grahame Jones get off on printing such a thing in the LA Times and then calling it a "hot" rumor? Seems like he should be reporting for the National Enquirer instead.

looking on galaxy website for statistics. does fc mean fouls committed? if so harden has 3 and marshall has 8 both in 360 minutes so i see what you mean. does harden time his tackles better or is he more athletic because he is younger? if marshall is past it then i agree the galaxy should play the rookie harden.

He must have had a source. It was kind of unusual for him to print something like that, especially calling it a "hot rumor"! I'm feeling more encouraged that nothing is imminent. I hope the boys play like their jobs depend on it this Saturday.

So what could our lineup look like halfway into the season?

    ----------- Findley - Ruiz ------------

    Harmse - Zidane - Donovan - Beckham

    Jazic --- Harden --- Xavier --- Albright

    -------------- Cannon ---------------

    Not too bad is it?

Please, I hope not. The Galaxy would be stupid to get rid of Albright. I don't think he is goin anywhere, and I hope he's not. They need to pick someone else to trade with Jaqua to get Ruiz back, if that is in fact gonna happen. But it would have to be someone good for Dallas to give up Ruiz

I was surprised at first, but I am willing to believe Jones about these rumors. As I recall, he was the one who broke the story that LD was coming to LA and Ruiz was going to FCD, before anyone.

FCD's Ruiz may be on the outside

Morrow says captain must fight to get back into the starting lineup

FRISCO – Carlos Ruiz might have to get used to the bench.

Ruiz didn't practice on Wednesday with the reserves, a sign he may not be in the starting lineup for the second straight game when FC Dallas visits Chicago tonight.

Coach Steve Morrow said Ruiz was neither injured nor was he being punished. Morrow wouldn't say whether the Guatemalan striker would start tonight.

"The team that played against Kansas City played pretty well," Morrow said of his club's 2-1 victory Saturday, "and the guys who didn't start are fighting to get back into the lineup. Carlos is no different than anybody else."

Abe Thompson, who started instead of Ruiz against Kansas City, picked up an assist on a goal by Kenny Cooper.

Ruiz didn't start because he missed two practices last week, but Morrow said that issue is in the past.

Ruiz did sprain his right wrist Monday playing goalkeeper in practice. But such an injury wouldn't have an effect on whether he starts tonight.

It simply appears that Morrow is sending a message to the team that everybody is equal.

If Ruiz doesn't start tonight, the trade rumors involving him will only heat up.

Morrow two weeks ago denied reports that Ruiz might be headed to Columbus. And this week he shot down talk that Ruiz could be sent to the LA Galaxy, according to reports from Los Angeles media.

"Carlos and I have a great relationship," Morrow said. "There are no issues between us. He understands the situation. I'm very happy with him and happy that he is my captain."

If we turn off all of the lights and post a list of all the local Hooters locations maybe he would go away.
