He almost broke the Madrid all time record for longest time without scoring. He hasnt scored for almost a year. Wtf.
If he can sustain something close to this form for a majority of the second half of this season I will have no problem, as I always do, admitting I was wrong. Until then the onus is still on Rodrygo to show that he's not a one month of the season type of player.
🚨 RMTV (on yesterday’s refereeing): “It's not human error. This has another name. It's a clear decision: not to call it because García Verdura and González Fuertes don't want to. Negreira's heirs are still there, and they're committing malfeasance.” @diarioas pic.twitter.com/mAMcm4vApm— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) December 15, 2025
The team bumbled and stumbled past this opponent, points in the bank are good, but I truly feel this team is food for good teams playing like this.
Not the best game yesterday. For me, it was again the midfield that looked weak. The Tchou/Arda/Jude set up just didn't look like it could really retain the ball centrally or win it back, even with Rodrygo trying hard to support at times. Tchou and Jude made some good challenges and Arda really was doing a lot of pointing and attempting to organize, but overall, we didn't seem to have much midfield control at all.
It goes back to A) Xabi crying out for a midfielder in the summer and B) Jude and Guler not being compatible with each other on the pitch, the balance is ********ed.
We really need to stop crying about the refs. The league is corrupted as fu(k and so are the refs, but we, fans, or the club for that matter, can't change it. We need to concentrate on playing better and not waste chances. This was a weak team we played against, and once more Juda/Arda is just not working. This is on Alonso to fix, he ain't going to another midfielder, so he better figure something out with what he has, even if it means oiling up the legs of one Dani C. Happy for Mr. Rodrygo, the true silent killer of this club, hopefully we'll see more of him and less of Vini.
Vinijr had a clear penalty. Rodrygo just had two goals. I am not saying he is good or bad but why compare him to Vinicius? your logic is biased.
Could not agree more, regardless of league, there is ALWAYS going to be mistakes. If anyone actually bothers reading the Laws of the Games, many things are subjective , ie the term "Excessive Force" its not like a unit of measurement!!! Some of us here think Ref are the ONLY problem !! ok you think it was 1-3 yesterday! does that mean our problems are solved?
Very biased, like many here. I've always liked Rodrygo better than Vinicious. Give me the player that doesn't mouth off all the time, doesn't complain all the time and just does his work. I'll always prefer that person. Yes, Rodrygo was playing like crap every time he was given a chance last year (or this year), but, for me he is a much better clutch player than Vini and a more team player. Again, it ain't going to happen, and the most we can expect from Rodrygo this year is that if he plays good we'll get more money for him in the summer, but one can dream.
He said something very valid in a tweet: ”Xabi won't make the team play as he wants to. Players won't fully buy his idea.”
🚨 BREAKING: The Referee Committee has now decided to review the penalty NOT given on Vini Jr. vs Alaves. The reason: There was a similar penalty in Celta vs Athletic Club in which VAR did intervene.@elchiringuitotv. pic.twitter.com/Z3Eu6zbf3p— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) December 16, 2025
🚨 Official statement by the Spanish Referees Association:"The Association condemns the statements made by Florentino Perez, for the serious harm it causes the referees' reputation in Spain.Refereeing can't be used to justify results. Football is won and lost on the pitch." pic.twitter.com/8Cn53AIIJg— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) December 16, 2025 I think the committee needs a VAR check on their stance.
I think Perez's brain needs a VAR check. What exactly is he trying to gain from such statements? They ain't gonna fire refs or disqualify them or give them a few matches ban. The only thing that is happening is that now all the refs are a little biassed against our club.
It's the most Perez is willing to do to support the manager: schedule a press conference to blame the refs for poor results
I was listening to Khedira talk about the club and he made a very interesting point recently about this potentially just being the response of a club that's seeing itself slip away from being a driving force for the direction of football and trying to recapture it by any means possible, the Superleague plans, selling to private equity etc. He compared the tone of the club while he was there compared to now.
