ive read that alan smith is on his way to newcastle in the summer, but im concerned where he will play! he's not as good as bellamy or shearer, but even when shearer retires, we have ameobi, who has worked his way up the ranks and it would be a bit sly for him to come all this way, then never play!but, dont get me wrong, alan smith is one hell of a player!!
I wouldn't mind seeing Smith as a magpie. We obviously need more depth at striker than what we currently have...it wouldn't hurt.
Hell no! This petulant child need not apply. Leeds North as they are, they don't need either him or Viduka. Smith is just Craig Bellamy with a different accent (and better health...maybe if they let Craiggers go to ManU for $$$). What about Owen, Heskey or some foreign talent (Zlatan, Kezman). Thx, Jay!
Smith might be decent signing, but I'd rather see money spent on our defense. We need another central defender and a right back couldn't hurt either. I don't see Hughes as the answer at that spot.
But at this stage he is better than Bumble. How many sitters/headers will Tetanus miss against Marseille?
No doubt about that CT-I think I've made my feelings about Bramble pretty clear on these boards. But if you slot Hughes into the middle, who plays right back? One answer is Taylor, but I'd rather see him stay in the middle. I think he'd give a better performance in his natural position. Hughes may not be a true RB, but he's played there plenty of matches and has more experience at that spot. My point was that I'm just not convinced Hughes is the answer at RB and I feel any money we do spend would be best used in the defense and then the midfield, preferably a defensive midfielder.
