I could be wrong, but I think I remember him saying they knocked his team out the tournament one year.
Re: Hoover Havoc Congratulations to the Capital City Streaks boys U10 team, champions of their bracket in the Hoover Havoc. They defeated Hoover United 6-4, tied Trussville 2-2, and defeated Hoover Revolution 5-3. Not a bad showing considering the team just formed in March.
http://home.hiwaay.net/~konantz/gotl.html would you go to Decatur or Huntsville to see Game of Their Lives?
Nice story.... http://www.al.com/hssoccer/mobileregister/index.ssf?/base/sports/111459345990440.xml I once coached a German exchange student. He had never played soccer before. Go figure.
article about Oak Mt's boys coach who is serving in Iraq. I played and coached with him at Homewood HS. http://www.al.com/hssoccer/birminghamnews/index.ssf?/base/sports/1115112150306060.xml

...unless you Homewoodians can get your city fathers off their collective backsides and build your complex complete with two stadium fields. (What, that wasn't in the design? It should be - that's all Huntsville has to offer AHSAA.)
I sense a new idiom to replace "beaten like a rented mule" coming from this. "...Vagenas now, plays through to Kirovski, who turns and lays it off for a speeding Donovan who somehow got in unmarked and now...goooool! Donovan goes top shelf and beats Baumstark like a rented keeper!"
I have recently joined Mt Brook SC coaching staff. I will always be supportive of Homewood soccer but until a true club is formed and the ties to the HPRB are severed it will continue to be a step-child in the OTM soccer scene.
That's a good choice. There are a number of interesting developments that will become evident soon that make that an even better choice.
That's a great result and reflects well on the work that the kids have done. Briarwood was no slouch in the semis, but like they say, third time's the charm, right? In 6A Oak Mountain absolutely rolled Prattville 6-0 in the final after beating Grissom 3-1 in the semi. That puts the cap on a dream season for them - unbeaten with only one draw. Trey Gregory (Jets 87) was named tournament MVP.
Hey, my Alabama soccer friends. It's been a long time since I've peeped over on this thread, but I'm doing it now to make a shameless appeal. I'm doing a charity walk for breast cancer next month, and I'm attempting to raise at least $1,800. To meet my fundraising goal I need at least one donation of $10 per day from now until June 23. If breast cancer research is a cause that's important to any of you, please click on either of the links in my sig line to find out how to donate. Thanks for your help.
