This is legit: http://www.thedenverchannel.com/sh/...ak&ts=T&tmi=den_natlbreak_4441_07250109132002 An al-Qaeda leader was also captured in Pakistan.
I don't think the gvt. of Buffalo was aiding and abetting the cell. I mean, normally I'm a big fan of hip cynicism, but it needs to have some relationship, however tenuous, with reality in order for it to work as humor.
Right. Everyone, please send all posts to superdave via PM to see if they are funny. If he agrees, he will reply letting you know it's funny and then- and only then- you can post it. He is the sole arbiter of humor. Always the lecture with you. Man, if you didn't find it funny, don't laugh. I thought it was witty. I chuckled. The connection to reality for me was that there were Al-queda members in Afghanistan, so we bombed them. There are now al-queda members in buffalo, so the joke was whether or not we would bomb them as well, with the oil supplier line alluding to the fact that there are al-queda cells in Saudi Arabia that we didn't go after because we need their oil. I don't think you need to make the "assistance of government" connection to get a laugh on that line. And btw, he was being sarcastic, not cynical.
Some people need to be educated. No, he was being cynical, implying certain motives to our gvt. that don't really apply. Plus, he wrote this:
