providing evidence to support claims that a war would draw the two enemies together.

I hope that was sarcasm, because I am sure they just flew in for the war.

People from all over the world flooded into Afghanistan to join the "Jihad" . Why do you immediately scoff at the suggestion that the same thing would take place here?

I read the article. With due allowances for the possibility that this could be real and not more utter BS or that the captured Iraqis weren't just telling us what they think we want to hear, it seems to me that the hawks have been using a "throw enough crap against a wall and something might stick" strategy regarding linking Saddam to 9/11.

I mean, we've already seen Powell's embarrassing attempt to link Saddam to 9/11 at the UN and now we have Fox News claiming that the poorly drawn mural with the plane crashing into a building is "proof positive" that Saddam was involved in 9/11. I really wish the hawks would stop irresponsibly crying wolf and clutching at straws like that if only because it hurts their case and makes people not believe them should they actually stumble onto some legit info.

If this is true, it's something I expected. If you guys are "multi-source" junkies like I am, then you've seen on BBC America and PBS and even (I believe) on CNN, that young men have been streaming into Iraq since just before the war began.

And I'm sure some of these guys claimed to be Al-Q the way guys in the supply depots of our army tell clueless civilian chicks that they're in the Special Forces.

Anyway, I again suspend my final belief on this until there is better confirmation of the truthfulness or otherwise of this report.

Osama himself told Iraqis to rise up and resist the invader. Of course there are going to be AQ and AQ sympathizers fighting us - it's a war in the Middle East.

Is now a good time to remind people OBL was in favor of this war, too?
