Congratulations Hilal Fans, a thoroughly deserved victory due to various factors:

1- Did not travel to any Far East Country to play knock out matches unlike which Ittihad played and won the competition twice
2- Investing money & having a huge squad depth to rotate foreign players unlike which Ittihad did not have chance to do so but still won it twice ( back to back )
3- This can be a lame excuse but yes, got easy knock out matches untill the finals.
Ahli - New coach & out of form
Ittihad - Out of Form Club
Sadd - New coach with no ACL experience
Urawa - Currently battling relegation in J-League

Salman Alafarj won't play in the world clubs cup due to thigh injury. Nawaf Alabed was called up instead of him

going to the match on Saturday vs. Esperance... should be a nice doubleheader. So if it's Liverpool vs Al Hilal in the final, who will you support then?

Hilal is strong contender for this cup saying that they are allowed to field 7 foreign players.

Feel sad for Salman Faraj though, he had carried the team all this way long to ACL title for this type of match day but he's not playing now..

Al Hilal won 1-0 by Gomez goal, a brilliant performance generally by the Saudi team, Mohammed Kanno was sent off late in the 2nd half

they deserved to reach the semifinal

    Congrats ;)

Congrats on the win and good luck in the semis.... here's some footage from the match. Just wondering, why was Gomis going over to the area where I think the Flamengo players were sitting after the goal to shout something. Anyhoo, just wondering if you guys had any inside scoop on that.

Kanno and Faraj out, it will be tough for Hilal to hold up the midfield with Otayf and Gustavo Cuella'r left out. Good thing of having 7 foriegn players in the squad.

It was probably to provoke them or make the upcoming match more exciting to watch..Worth noting Flamengo is coached by former Hilal coach Juan Jesus

Gomis said that he was warning his ex-coach jesus (the current flamengo coach). as a joke.
He invited Jesus for dinner that night and they went out.

btw, do you mind not using anyhoo in every post lol.

Ah, glad to see he "found jesus" lol. Anyh... um, I mean nevertheless, I think that game against Flamengo does have the potential for an upset. Very impressed with Al Hilal and the quality is certainly there. Flamengo definitely favorites, but wouldn't be completely shocked if Al-Hilal took this. Either way, will get to see Al-Hilal once again in the tournament's final day

Hilal dumped out by Flamego 3-1 & now will face winner btw Liverpool vs Monterray for 3rd Place.

Some good positives coming out of this is some of my close friends in Liverpool who support Liverpool FC are saying Jurgen Klopp is keenly tracking Yasser Shahrani and Abdullah Otayf in this CWC & would move in once with Cup is over.

Also there are lots of chatters around clubs scouting Salem Dawsari & Yasser Shahrani but are unable to do ice break with there agents

I just heard that Monterrey is sending many of its first team players home as they have the Mexico League Cup Final coming up next week. So effectively, you'll be playing their B-team on Saturday. Al-Hilal have a great chance now of taking the bronze medal.
