I'm an American who will be in Holland this summer
I have two sons 9 and 12 who play soccer here in the states. My family has Dutch roots so I have always tried to educate my boys on the Oranje from Cruyff to Bergkamp to Sneijder in hopes of providing them some soccer culture.

So I recently saw this program from Ajax...

It looks like its set up for Dutch youth players. I realize that this is not the Ajax academy :)
Has anyone had their children play here. My goal would be a useful technical soccer experience for the boys but also a cultural experience in which they would play with Dutch boys who share a similar passion.

I think it's for everybody since they also have an English section..

Keep in mind however that they will arrange different groups on the 1st day classified by age and level of play so your sons will most likely not be in the same group.

    Thanks for your reply
Do you know of anyone who has sent their children to this camp?

I'm curious about the quality of training; If its at "The Future", it must be high quality :D

Also not to turn you into a travel agent but what neighborhood in Amsterdam should I stay if I want to be near the facility. My hope is to watch the training a couple days but also get out with my wife and see the city too.. I'd rather be closer to the facility if the neighborhood is decent and travel to places like Van Gohh, Rijk..etc. I saw the hotel link and will look there too.
But maybe an apartment or houseboats would work?

Don't know of anyone sorry. Rob Witschge is leading the camp so they're in pretty good hands and yes the courses being given are of the same standard as normally at de Toekomst (hopefully, because they advertise as such lol).

I would say a houseboat is probably the best option. It's different and fun, especially in summer. There are quite a few hotels nearby the ArenA, but since Amsterdam isn't really that big you can stay pretty much everywhere and may as well prefer to book a hotel/apartment in the city center.
