After 2 thrashing wins for the Gunners, they head west to the wild city of Amsterdam to face the famous Dutch club, AFCA.

I see a 3-1 win for The Arsenal.

    Go on Gunners, go on!

What does the title underneath your name mean? We signed Reyes over a year and a half ago.

Maybe I'm the last guy to be aware of this, but GolTV is showing this game on Friday at 3:15PM EST.

It will be good to see the boys play against a higher quality team and how they perform.

And MT, movie quoting can be funny!;)

I'm going to say Arsenal win 3-0...no 3-1, forgot Cygan would play. Oops. ;)

On a related note, check this out and this. I hadn't heard that Sol was certain to miss the start of the season. Naming him as a doubt for WCQ means that they don't expect him to be ready until after the start of September. :(

Anyone else worrying that we'll see about the same 16 EPL games from Sol this season as we had last year with Cygan back as 3rd CB available much of the year? Yikes. I know Gilberto is still "resting" but I'll feel a lot better when we see him in action again. We're still pretty short of Dmid depth and if we only get 13 EPL games out of Gilberto this year, it would be a more serious loss than it was last season. Lower back injuries can be tricky and reinjury is pretty common.

Explains why Wenger says he is looking for a new defender. I have stuck up for Cygan enough. I don't hate the guy, but he sure as hell makes me nervous anytime the ball is within a 15 yard radius of him.

Yes, I'm beginning to wonder if this Beast chase should've been re-directed to going after Diarra or someone else strong in the middle.

Wouldn't mind seeing this line-up. Is Christanval still on trial?

Looking forward to this one. There are high hopes for Ajax this season, reenforced with a 0-4 drubbing of Arminia Bielefeld in their last warm-up match (see ajax-usa.com for match reports) and new striker Markus Rosenberg looking like he could finally be a legitimate replacement for Ibrahimovic.

From what I understand Pires has mainly been playing in the middle and Reyes on the wing thus far in the preseason? Or has Reyes been partnering Henry again?

I think Catfish is using a quote from Kevin Kline's film Dead Poet's Society where students call their teacher(Kline) Oh Captain My Captain. Plus with Henry's picture right underneath I feel free to say Oh Captain My Captain! :D It's time that he has become it.

    Van, Can.

Sorry to be a pick here, but first, it's Robin Williams, not Kevin Kline. Second the quote is from a Walt Whitman poem which the movie uses. This kind of thing just bugs me, like when people say, "I love that song 'American Woman' by Lenny Kravitz." It's a Guess Who song, fool, they did it 25 years earlier, and it's still 25 times better . Third, I don't see how it all involves Reyes, so I'm guessing something's up with that as well.

I think he changed his pic and forgot to change his title. Really, not too big a deal.

And, yes, the Guess Who's version is at least 25 times better, perhaps even 30 times better.

Both the Ajax and Porto games are on GolTV, if you're lucky enough to get it. It's the reason I got DishNetwork.

    ;)

Okay, back on topic....should be an interesting match. Will look to hear bluedaddy's assessment afterward.

Everything nucgunner said, but at the time of my writing at the beginning of this thread, he had a picture of Reyes and above it he had "Reyes, Spanish Gunner". Aside from stating the obvious, I was just wondering the point of it.
