Van der Vaart is the 'number 9'
Sonck is the ' number 10'

Great... oh well, at least our 'number 9' scored.

sonck played as a #10 in preseason and some good games, but those were against crap teams, he did nothing there against the better ones.
anyway, i agree, get rid of koeman.

well if we really want to play with the personnel we have... we'd be in a 442 and sonck would be very comfy

It looks to me like Koeman is just fishing and fiddling with what he has right now, trying to squeeze what he can until the transfer window opens up.

To be honest, the sale of Ibrahimovic really cut Koeman at the knees in terms of attack. Yes, Sonck was a dumb purchase, Escude was a flop, etc. etc. but the one reliable gem he had, was sold. I'd give him until the end of the season. If he still can't get anything out of the anemic offense, then it is time to look around.

It's also tough for me to say it (given my previous critique) but it looks like Trabelsi's return has done something constructive to the back four - I don't expect there to be a ADO-esque collapse anymore with him to anchor Johnny H and De Jong.
