    Wow! This didn’t take long.
    Farewell to Farioli.
I liked the man and his interviews were always honest and respectful even when he was facing some tough questions from the pushy and insensitive Dutch media.
It was a crazy decision I thought from the beginning to hire a man with almost no experience, and his record was nothing special as well if we are being honest.
Farioli did quite well with not a lot of quality.
I did NOT enjoy the Farioli Calcio, but we are not the Ajax of the past, and his job was to not lose games even though I hated the football, he somehow managed to have the team in position to win the League.
I was not a fan of the slow football which truly lacked creativity and skill, but also certain decisions by the Manager’s lineups and player selections which were generally questionable.
His handling of the Europa League Eintracht Frankfurt ties was piss poor and a huge mistake by Farioli in my opinion.
He did seem to excel at bringing a stronger man managing element to his position which was a marked improvement over Steijn and Schreuder.
Yes they bottled the League, and that’s not all Farioli’s fault because at the end of the day the guys on the pitch need to step up.
Reading some of the comments here I agree with the shaky Boardroom stuff behind the scenes still at play, but I don’t necessarily think that Kroes is great either.
There is definitely some friction between Farioli and Kroes I think which plays into things, but I think the Manager had enough stress with a young family living in Italy, and also his name has been linked to other Italian teams namely Roma and Juventus.
I wonder if Kroes was going to sack him, but now he has to figure out a new Manager on top of the crap roster.
Would love to see Reiziger, but it won’t be easy for anyone due to this current lacking roster.
Kroes certainly has plenty of decisions to make regarding this current squad and how he can improve it.
His job is basically going to come down how he handles transfers and ultimately if he can evaluate talent properly.
So far I’m not impressed, but now he needs to get to work and sort this roster out.
As Orange 14 stated about some of the youth coming up that is what gets me excited for the future.

I'm curious about Reiziger. Having the right kind of Ajacied in charge would be a strong draw.

From what I read he’s definitely on the shortlist as there is a connection through Ten Hag, Kroes, and some agent representative of there’s.

  4. Kroes in an interview with VI has told that, despite the CL millions, spending depended on selling players.

On Monday, it was announced that Francesco Farioli is leaving as Ajax's head coach, and as a result of that news, Kroes spoke to the media, including VI, in the afternoon. In addition, the technical director said that he could answer some questions that Farioli had "not too enthusiastically". That was about the possibilities that Ajax has in the upcoming transfer period.
'To put it bluntly: we made it to the Champions League, that brings in a lot of money,' said Kroes. 'But how much money is going to new players? In fact, it is the same calculation as last year. So if I sell one euro, I can invest about forty cents.'
So it's a misconception that Ajax suddenly has a lot more to spend, now that the Champions League has been reached. Kroes: 'There will be an x number of players coming back, we all know by now that something will happen with that contractually, so part of your Champions League game will be deducted from that. Then we have an x number of key players who could possibly be sold. You can't reinvest those euros one-on-one in new players. In a certain area we have made progress, but in a certain area you will soon go back.'

Thanks again to the poisonous Mislintat the troubling financial situation remains unfortunately.
As I’ve stated before no one wants that those rejects and trash.
Farioli was obviously not happy with the selection, or what has been at his disposal, and was clearly expecting help in the form of transfers and creativity I read.
I also saw that Farioli wants nothing to do with Tadic but Kroes is the boss.
A stupid decision to bring back the Serbian who has not run much in years.
Let’s see what the off season brings and hope that Kroes makes some positive improvements.

Don't know. He is out of contract but can he really play at top level? I doubt it. Of course I believe the same thing about Klaassen and they are discussing a new contract for him.

Davy signing for two more years. I'm OK with him on the roster -- but he can't play as much as he did this year.

Pasveer one year. Good news is it sounds like they're going to search for a new #1 GK.

Ridiculous bringing back Klaassen Pasveer and Tadic.
    Totally absurd.
    Eriksen has been linked also.
    Total stupidity from Kroes.

  10. Or debilitating lack of money.

So, where are we at now -
    Ten Hag is a no.
Simonis just signed a new contract at GAE
Reiziger? Someone like the Bodo/Glimt coach who has been talked about before? A surprise? Who’d want to take over anyways - seems like a lot of uncertainty about the squad for next season. Feel like I just something about Sutalo maybe going, too, along with Hato and God knows who else!

Others are saying that he has agreed a 2-year deal with Bayer but Ajax is also waiting in the wings as a potential landing point. I'm not exactly sure what that means. Does it mean he would accept an offer from Bayer but they have yet to commit to him?

Simonis extended with Go Ahead Eagles. Reiziger extended with Jong Oranje. ten Hag signed by Leverkusen. Who is possibly left for Ajax to get? Marcel Keizer has been mentioned but he had a bad experience the last time (in part because of the Nouri tragedy).

Does that mean that Kroes has determined he's not ready for Ajax 1 yet?

I think Reiziger was angry that he got passed over when they were having problems and Heitinga was made temporary manager. All I am seeing right now are a lot of rumors. I assume they have begun interviewing candidates. I also think Farioli made a big mistake in jumping ship. There is a report from Italy that he is not being taken seriously.

That doesn't make a ton of sense to me - why would he be angry that he got passed over but still agree to stay with Jong Ajax?

Had to check multiple times to make sure this wasn't a parody account. Keizer? This can't be serious.

It is the current circulating rumor. I'm not passing any judgement until there is an official announcement from Ajax.

I'm waiting for the official announcement before closing this thread, but it looks like Heitinga is coming in as manager with Keizer his principal assistant. Maybe this brings back Ajax attacking football.

I think that's probably as good as we can hope for. Strong connections to Ajax, experience as an assistant coach at the highest level.
