Perhaps this is better for Ajax since it gives them more time to gel under Farioli. I know that 010 has a new coach as well, but Ajax has a lot more ground to make up than they do.
Dutch language media reporting that Ajax will have a good war chest to spend in the winter transfer window after bringing in 57 million euros in income against 2.4 million in expenses. The failure of the Sulemana deal actually helped in that regard. https://www.msn.com/nl-nl/sport/oth...t-komende-transferwindow-het-zoet/ar-AA1qwhmg
These are on the Dutch espn. I'm not sure if all matches of our second tier are broadcasted, but I've seen Young teams scheduled to be broadcasted in the past. https://www.espn.nl/voetbal/wedstrijd/_/wedstrijdId/705558
Not all of the Dutch Second division matches are televised. Depending on the schedule anywhere from 4-6 may be on Dutch ESPN on any given weekend.
Her you can have info on which games are televised and on which broadcaster: https://livetv.sx/enx/allupcomingsports. Jong Ajax matches are broadcasted quite often.
F-side ultras have destroyed a police station and a few squad cars. While I dont condone violence it is understandable, the police are supposed to be essential services. AD: https://www.ad.nl/nederlands-voetba...erdam-me-grijpt-in-acht-arrestaties~a50ac898/
As much as I generally support the right to strike, I also think that there are some positions, like police, where people shouldn't be able to. I'm not a policeman, but I work in a national security position and am not legally allowed to strike.
Mmm, it's already difficult to recrute people for jobs like these essential ones. If you as a government go messing with their rights and you can't protest it in a way the government feels it, the odds are the government doesnot care and in the end you will enlarging the already large shortage of police officers.
Davy is officially back. He was training with team and impressed Farioli enough that he offered him a contract. I'm not sure it's a good thing the midfield is so weak that Davy impressed. I still don't know why they spent all that money to get him back... but I do appreciate his fight and leadership. It's just a one-year deal too.
I find this decision to be stupid. Any youth player should be preferred to a washed scrub like Klaassen.
Letting Vos go and signing Klaassen is yet another proof the club is free falling. How this can be considered improvement is really beyond me.
Subbing Fitz Jim for Klaassen is puzzling to say the least.Seems this year's signings are no better than last year's, luckily they are fewer.
This match ended in the added minute of the first have when a poor back pass forced the Sittard defender to pull down Akpom just outside the box. That's a direct Red for obstructing a goal scoring opportunity. Ajas were already up 2-0 at the time with fine goals from Taylor and Traore. The second half would prove to be a shooting gallery and it was. Ajax were rusty in the first 10 minutes of the match, a result of a month-long layoff resulting from the police strike and international break. One into the rhythm of the game with some fine interior quick passing to free players. Only some fine saves from the Sittard keeper kept the score from getting wildly out of hand. The defense was more than adequate bar the one hard shot that clanged off Pasveer's post. Farioli loves clean sheets. Games will now start coming fast and furious as the Europa Leage in it's new format begins next week. Injuries seem to be having an effect. Brobbey was missing today and I'm not sure what the reason was. Sutalo was subbed off at halftime but that might have been tactical. Berghis will be out longer than first expected Hlynsson is still getting over a muscle strain and Mannswerk is a long term injury. Davy Klaassen was saluted by the crowd as a returning hero with a full head of hair. Player Ratings: Pasveer (6) - had nothing to do and thanked the post for keeping the lone shot out of the goal Rensch (7) - had one early mistake but played very well the rest of the way, very active on offense and scored a nice goal when the keeper thought he was going to cross leaving a big gap to shoot at Sutalo (6.5) - solid game in the half he played Baas (7) - continues to improve and who of us knew he would be a starting CB? Scored the second goal on a nice header Hato (7.5) - decent enough with two outstanding assists (I bumped up his rating after watching the highlights) Henderson (7) - solid game from the Captain with some good free kicks and one great shot that took a fine save to keep out Taylor (7.5) - excellent match and his goal winner inside of the first 10 minutes was a thing of beauty Fitz-Jim (7) - did a fine job of picking out the open man and moving into space so he could get the ball back Traore (6.5) - looks be finally getting match fit (what took so long) and his goal was nice, still had some chance he could have done better with Akpom (7) - filled in for the absent Brobbey and acquited himself well getting a second half goal Godts (6.5) - looks like he is playing with Neres-like constraint (he took my advice to watch some tapes) and is not trying to press things too much, just missed an assist when a sliding Akpom could not put it in Rugani (6) - solid enough playing in the second half, and ever the Italian, greeted Klaassen's entrance with a kiss on the cheek van den Boomen (6) - solid and had a couple of nice shots on target Klaassen (6) - decent as a late sub Weghorst (5) - on for the final 25 minutes but not much of a factor Rassmussen (NR) - on late during shooting practice and had some nice passes to open team mates. Go Ahead Eagle up this weekend on the road.
I remember some time back the criticisms about akpom and I said he is a better striker than Brobbey and it’s all about how you use him. Well clinically he is proving himself. I like this new coach, he has really lifted the teams standard coming in.
The ghost of Marc Overmars and two players from our youth system curse Ajax in Deventer. Go Ahead Eagles are a very well organized club defensively and they did qualify for Eruope going ouit in the Conference League playoffs this past summer Only a goal from Klaassen to even things up saved a point. It looks like this team will not be capable of playing two matches a week as there is marginal first team quality and little depth, particularly with Berghuis continuing to miss matches (he is out for at least a month more). Hato's blunder led to the Llhanasa goal to put Ajax behind. It was a well-deserved goal as Ajax were too slow on the night and only showed any promise at all in the final five minutes when they tried to get the match winner. I wonder if Farioli was rotating players because of the fixture congestion. Player Ratings: Pasveer (6) - no chance on the goal and had to scramble to save an own goal off a Sutalo back pass Rensch (5.5) - worked hard going upfield but to little avail Sutalo (6) - other than the bad back pass decent on thenight Kaplan (5) - average and no more Hato (4) - bad ball decisions several times and is turnover on the goal sequence was inexcusable Henderson (5.5) - mildly above average Taylor (4.5) - looked slow and could not figure out how to get open Fitz-Jim (6) - good passing as usual and a late snap shot was too tame to trouble the keeper Traore (4) - looking more and more like an out of shape football player who just wants to pick up a paycheck Weghorst (5) - got zero balls in the air for him to do something with Godts (4.5) - mediocre Gaaei (5.5) - certainly an upgrade over Traore and whipped in some decent crosses but they were just off the mark Davy One Goal (6) - got the tying goal and put in his usual active shift Wyndal (5.5) - back from the depths and a surprise substitution, decent enough going forward in the last quarter of the game Brobbey (5) - meh Rassmussen (NR) - on late for Godts Besiktas up in the Europa League at home followed by an away game against RKC Waalwijk next weekend. I suspect this will be another long season.
Very hard match to watch as Ajax were really pretty useless. Generally it’s not good enough in possession, and just lacking in dangerous quality or dribbling to create chances. Badly in need of a playmaking # 10, but we’re have we heard that before? Weghorst is tough to watch, and his arrogant attitude bothers me a lot considering his lack of footballing ability. Brobbey coming on led to him getting frustrated at seeing almost zero service. He winds up getting booked himself, and shortly afterwards on a long powerful run, he draws a booking, but eventually gets involved with one nice combination that quickly ended after Rasumussen hammered a short cross out of play. Did I mention it was a tough match to watch?
