Airport on Monday?

RmDad, Gman, and myself are going.

 

I'm there. Where do we meet up (at the airport)?

 

Probably up on the concourse near the security check point would be good.

I suspect that we will have to wait for the team at the luggage area due to security.... no ticky no gatey....

 

If you want, feel free to wait around until 11:40 PM when a lot of supporters arrive on JetBlue flight 310.

I think we're going to be pretty noisy on board.

 

Is anyone certain we'll even be anywhere near the team? Someone was saying something about a couple years ago they deplaned on the tarmac and scooted off separately. This is what's largely holding me back from going to Dulles.

 

AFAIK, they'd still have to exit just like everyone else.

 

I just tried to call the DCU office to ask about the airport. They are closed today. I suspect the entire staff has as big a hangover as the rest of us.

It doesnt make sense to me that the front office would publish the flight info..then hide the team from us...
We are gonna go on faith...and be there.

I have unfortunatly spent a lot of time waiting for people at Dulles. The best bet is, if you know what flight they are on, to wait near the baggage claim, the board tells you which claim their luggage will come off at. The problem is there are two exits from where the big lunar lander things pull up and two seperate baggage claim areas. Due to construction, if you are waiting at one, you can't see the other. So, if someone knows the flight number, which shouldn't be too hard since it appears we know what time they are comming in, I would recommend everyone just hang out by the baggage claim.

 

I'm not 100% certain, but I think they're arriving at Dulles international airport at 8:42 p.m. ET on United flight 890.

 

I'm most likely going to go....They even gave the flight info on WTOP this morning..although they said 9:30pm and the thread on here says 8:42..so I guess I'll have to go check it out ont he United Airlines website.

 

How about 8:35 pm in front of the security area at the top of the stairs in the middle of the main concourse ? We can then check arrival info, and also send scouts with phones to the different baggage claims to make sure we end up in the right area when the lads get there.

I would suggest staying downstairs, check the baggage claim board as soon as you get there and head to that claim area. Once you go upstairs Murphy's law dictates they will come in the door opposite of the one at which you are waiting.

 

Someone needs to call the front office and work out a plan.

 

Hence the sending out of scouts with phones to call back to the main herd

Yeah, I see the plan, but I'm just thinking about several things, one is that there is a lot of construction upstairs and really isn't a whole lot of room, I can see security as well as the ticket counter folks getting kind of upset with a large crowd gathering there. Downstairs is still under construction, but there is a lot more open space. It really isn't hard to find the baggage claim they will be at since we have the flight info. I just don't want to see TSA turning into CSC!
