If any of the other 3 european players
on the radar are half as good as Bierhoff
was in his prime, and Andy can convince
any of them to play at Helm's Deep, that
    would be a coup.

I for one want to see the Guatemaulya
kid in camp, he would be a great pull
to get an ethnic group in to the east
end that was never heavily represented
    at the Cotton Bowl.

Interesting. That Bierhoff story came out of nowhere.

I hope they hurry up and bring some reinforcements in.

They just need to tell them where they'll be playing hoem games so they know what they're getting into. We don't want anyone pulling a Grimandi.

Does anyone else think that all these "tryouts" could be screwing up the team? I mean, there's a new guy in town every week. How many guys has Jefferies looked at this year? In Chile alone, it must have been at least a half dozen.

Why don't coaches get this done before the season starts and be done with it?

That's the one thing I like about Frank Yallop. He looks at guys early, then STAYS with his team after that. No "looking over your shoulder" to see if someone is threatening to take your spot. You earn it before the season, then work to become a valuable part of the team.

Many MLS coaches/management staffs look to Europe for these 'special finds' because of league play coming to an end.

Scheduling for scouting becomes an issue too.

But I have my doubts as to the 'welcome' foreign players get from the Burn American players who may hold resentment against them.

It's easier to resent foreign players when things aren't going well and the league isn't making any money... and American players who've busted their ass in THIS country can't be successful and make more money...

I wish I was just being cynical.

    Brushs is right again.

Getting a big time European player to get on the plastic will be very difficult. Especailly if the player feels like he has a few years left, and is auditioning for another spot in Europe.
