What I hated: the non-marking of Messi on the 2nd goal, hearing fans chant for the away team at a 'home' DC United match. What I liked: better structure, better support for each other, not giving up, glimpses of potential. I admit that my bar is low after all these years. But I had hope up until the whistle blew. And I give the DC United fans props, too. Near the end while pressing for the equalizer, I could hear some good DC UNITED! chanting.
Yes, it does, but yes, you are also on 'shrooms. IIRC the actual language is "substantially all." Its not 100% of games.
DCU 1.0 and 2.0 were about developing a base. Dcu 3.0 is only about the sports entertainment bidness. Also, remember the dc area is very different then most other metro areas. Most people have lived here for 20 years but are not from here. They are notoriously fickle bandwagon sports entertainment consumers and typically keep and have more affinity for their "home" team than their local DC team. Your first problem is that you ARE a fan. In the DC metro area.....
Did anyone find and can report on the stm food trucks? My son who arrived in Lot A by 315 but couldn't find any trucks IN lot A, let alone any that were free for stm. People he recognized as stm also said they couldn't find the trucks. Longtime seatmate that took the bus and arrived 250 reports not being able to find the trucks and folks wearing dcu badges were not knowledgeable. Perhaps the stm trucks hit their limit and left before 3pm?
First half bad, especially the defensive lapses on the goals and the sloppy combinations on offense. Second half better, especially once Louis and Markovic came on. Baribo took his goal well and that was easily Louis's best game for United. De Paul will rue that missed goal late in the 2nd half. Miami is clearly the better team but Messi is the cheat code - without him, Miami is more of a normal MLS side.
They were in the far corner down the street from the entrance - they had a taco truck, a Bolivian saltena "truck", lots of chip bags, and a ton of beer. I left for the stadium around 330 and they were still busy.
St Louis just conceded a goal to Seattle the same way we gave Miami their first. Lazy dribbling by outside defender near the end-line allowed the opposing forward to strip the ball away. A couple of quick passes and then Goal. We're not the only ones.
Spoiler for RSL Atlanta Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Atlanta looked abysmal. They flat out sucked. The scoreline flattered them. They’re a spoon contender for sure.
You know he sprung the attack that led to the goal, right? He's also tied for second on the team in key passes.
Peltola is also the highest rated player for DC this year on Fotmob. He's truly showing why he got brought in by Mackay as a young DP.
The problem remains that if you’re starting Peglow and Pirani, you’re fücked for the first two thirds of the game at least. Take those two off and replace them with average players and you have a team fighting for the last playoff spot. With them on, pure Spoon garbage. If the Brazilians are going to continue as starters, I honestly don’t think this team is any better than last year. Maybe even worse. The only question is whether the other Spoon contenders are as bad as DC is.
I thought he was our best player yesterday. He's stepped up defensively, distributes the ball well and hasn't had any big errors like he did last year. I think he would really shine on a better team. Hopefully that happens in DC at some point.
Yes, I know. I also saw him kill several other attacks this week and previously. Its also understandable that he's tied for 2ND. There arent many progressive passers on this team. Pirani and Peglow can dribble, but Servania, Peltola and pretty much anyone else dont play those type of passes. We didnt start playing decent until they subbed the CB on at DM. He's a good ball winner, ive said that. But being our highest rated player so far isnt saying much. But transition is such a huge part of todays game and i just made an observation on what i saw yesterday. Defend well, but transition was poor most of the game. No. 4 was one of the guilty parties. https://www.mlssoccer.com/competitions/mls-regular-season/2026/matches/dcvsmia-03-07-2026/stats He had one of the worst pass completion percentages in the game.
I could see that. With a better attack with ebtter movement, and a better midfield partner than Servania. DC always gets this former youth u20 players afer they proved they werent good enough previously. Sort of like when we got Danny Szetela.
