I agree. It’s disappointing where some of our guys were 3-4 seasons ago vs. where they are now, but guys like Morris and Cardoso help a little.
Aidan, the early odds of favorite for YA POY, has deservedly earned a call up to the September friendlies for the USMNT.
Jedi is in the top 5 most owned FPL defenders and tied for first for most assists amongst defenders. I mean his price tag doesn’t hurt but can’t remember the last time a Yank had such high ownership. So Morris ain’t in first place for me. BA hasn’t been terrible either.
Having a top end reliable LB the last few years has been like manna from heaven after decades of headaches at the position tbh
A big 1v1 interview with Morris from the USMNT camp in KC I had a long 1v1 interview with #USMNT and #Boro mid Aidan Morris. We spoke about- playing Canada after choosing the #USMNT over 🇨🇦- that choice- his growth at #Crew96- missing #Paris2024- his great start at Boro- & more- for @SoccerAmerica#UTBhttps://t.co/i0IHYM0lmZ— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) September 6, 2024 One nugget: “Wilfried and his entire staff were so good with me in my time there in Columbus,” Morris said of Columbus. “And they constantly pushed me to grow and put me in uncomfortable positions to force me to grow. With that, the play over there was moving at 1,000 mph and I was playing in a style where I was able to control the presses, and go into hostile environments, especially in Concacaf, and be able to play our style.” “Going into the Championship, it’s been kind of a smooth transition because of that,” he added. “The Championship’s a very chaotic league where everyone’s running 1000mph, tackling. Being able to feel calm and composed through it all is a big kudos to Wilfried and the staff. And Michael Carrick and all the guys over there have been great.”
Just saw this. I'm thinking a newly blond fella in London (not to mention a ginger in yellow) who may have something to say about this, but there's a lot of games play.
Off the bench: 78 | Triple change for Boro, starting with this pair.🔴 1-1 ⚪️#UTB pic.twitter.com/p10Qp1ENJ5— Middlesbrough FC (@Boro) September 14, 2024 1-1 in added time.
Morris played all of a relatively even match with first place Sunderland, losing 1-0. His passing was quite good but Sunderland won the physical midfield battle while I was watching.

Worst game of the season. Was a half step off the pace. Plenty of lingering on the ball, questionable passing reads, & late steps on d. Boro give it away w/ 2 later goals allowed.
