For clicks. Plenty of other accounts mention that but ignore that multiple players for Boro gave the ball away in similar instances.

What's funny is I checked a Boro fan board and they praised Morris for bringing grit and creativity to the midfield and seemed unbothered by the mistake, instead shrugging and saying with how Carrick wants Boro to play there will be self inflicted mistakes like that from time to time

After the game, Carrick was quick to praise Morris about how well Aidan has adjusted into the team but also that it’s not surprising because they really rated him when they started scouting him.

I’d take his word for it over what you see from American fans on social media

Shouldn't Aidan's thread graduate from the Academy now? @bungadiri, @dark knight? Or am I mistaken about the standards for graduation?

Yeah... I have returned to this thread several times this week expecting to see it under the YA page. He has started a game in league play so this should have been moved last weekend.

What's going on? I started a new thread on the main forum cuz inexplicably nobody has transferred this one (he's made his league debut). Then some mod came thru & just deleted my thread. Didn't even merge or move this one.

I think people would like to be alerted that a relevant US national team player was about to play, before the season, let alone during. @TheFalseNine @dark knight @bungadiri

I started one a few weeks ago (prematurely) and it was deleted unceremoniously as well.

EDIT: And now it's been moved over! Thanks, mods!

    Morris off at 68’ - part of a double-sub - Middlesbrough trailing Derby 1-0.

Finished 1-0 to Derby. Aiden rated a middling 6.8 by Fotmob. Maybe they give ratings based on the minute of the game you leave.

The idea that a player with almost 100 first team appearances in MLS needs to actually debut for his new club abroad in order to warrant a thread here is among the stupider policies of this board.

From the metrics, it appears they controlled the game (opponent highest score was their keeper), & Morris played solidly (7.1 SS), but they got a combo of an unfortunate result, & bad finishing/creating.

Their a-wing Isaiah Jones was their lowest rated player. He gets some hype, & has flashes, but is really dependent on space because of how slow/bad of a decision-maker he is. So they could regularly struggle to create against organized opponents. They've more been deadly on counters.

I think A-Mo more fits a possession team. They have some capabilities in that department, outside their front 4. Hopefully they get that sorted.

I didn’t see the match but Boro scored a 90+ minute equalizer to draw 2-2 vs Portsmouth. Stats wise, it reads like Morris had another stellar performance.

    7.2 FotMob Rating

    50/52 accurate passing
    2 Chances Created
    1/1 successful dribbles
    7 passes into final third
    0/1 accurate crosses
    1/1 accurate long balls
    1/1 tackles won
    1 interception
    4 recoveries
    4/6 duels won
    0/1 arial duels won

I just noticed the score in today's Carabao Cup match and was relieved to see who wasn't in the starting lineup for Middlesbrough today.

Morris came on at 78' for Law McCabe, and Morris slammed the door shut on Stoke City!!!

For those who haven't seen the result, Middlesbrough trailed 0-5 when Morris entered, and that was the final score.

Morris was outstanding in this game. Nearly had an assist at the end too.

Just hand the YA POY trophy to Morris. He’s the runaway winner. Pretty much a dud YA season (thus far) and Morris has been the shining star. The dude has walked in and earned his spot and done nothing but excel. Boro staff and fans have to be be beaming with his performances.
