Okay folks, here it is! First 64 people to sign up are in. Come one, come all. Get your friends on whatever fora you frequent to join in today. You need not know anything whatsoever about college baskeball to play - as it won't improve your chances.

For the fourth year in a row I will be presenting to you here a version of what I run at the bar. It's quite simply the best damned way to run an NCAA Men's College Basketball Pool.

For those that are new here, I'll review the rules real quick.

~There are 64 slots in the pool (the play-in game counts as one spot.)

~Each person in the pool gets one team.

~Once I get 64 people to sign up, I'll draw names at random to fill into the bracket.

~You get a spot (South, seed #9, for example), not a team. (Example: I will pull a name from a hat, then a spot out of another hat. The name I pull gets the spot I pull and they take that spot on the blank bracket I'll be filling in.)

~When the bracket is full of names, we will now be ready for the tournement. Each player will know what team they have by looking at their spot on the bracket. If we manage to fill this before this Sunday, then you'll be able to follow along when the real brackets are filled in then.

~Once the entire bracket is full (players and teams are set,) we will begin play.

~Your team plays their opponent and in turn you play your opponent. However, you don't advance just for winning - your team has to beat the point spread:

So, let's say that you have the #16 seeded Bill's Community College From The County Down the Highway (BCCFCDH for short) and you are up against #1 seeded Arizona and the point spread is Arizona by 44. If BCCFCDH pulls off the miracle upset, then you advance with your team. If Arizona wins by 44 or more, then the person that has Arizona advances with Arizona. However, if Arizona wins by less that 44, then you advance with the other person's Arizona and that person is then eliminated.

Sounds complicated, but it's really not.

All you have to do is post here that you want in and I'll take care of the rest.

    A few things to add:

~The point spread is determined by the day-of-the-game-edition of the Cincinnati Enquirer. All ties (pushes) go to the winning team, not always the higher seed.

I've been running this pool at the bar for years for $20 per spot. In that pool, if your team wins just two games, you win your money back. Not a bad deal, as one in four wins their money back. Here, the prize is bragging rights.

So go get all your friends on this board to sign up today before all the spots are gone. We've got till Thursday about noon to fill this sucker, so let's get crackin'!

Remember, first 64 in get a spot.

    But wait!

How can I, your average consumer, sign up for the BDPotP?

Surely, it must be very complicated, if not impossible, to get in!

    Great question, Mr. Walker!

No. Hold on. Never mind. It really wasn't a great question.

But you're now in nonetheless. :D

I would expect to pay a lot for a service like this!

    $49.95?
    $99.95?

How can you give this away for FREE?

I'm in. I think I won last year because I ended up getting Syracuse through a non-cover. I can't remember, though.
