Last year, SC beat VB with 1 goal margin only. I think it reflected that their gap was not so large. So this year VB's win is not a shock. It will be a shock if the margin was more than 2 goals . It just similar with Inter Milan whose beat Chelsea 1-0 at away. That was not a shock despite Inter has never reach the quarter-final in recent years.

Last year, South China got 16 points in their group and VB got 4, thats a big difference. The other Maldives rep last year lost all 6 games!!

In 2008, both Maldives reps came bottom of their groups!! Again the same in 2007 and 2006!!

In fact, only in 2005 has a club from the Maldives actually made the knokout stages.

So, yes, I do see the 1-0 victory to a Maldives club as a shock result. But thats only because South China did so well last year. If they didn't make the semi's last year, then no one would really have noticed this result this time round.

So, yeah a shock for me from the above reasons, but I can see why some people wouldn't see it as a shock, simply becuase HK clubs aren't that strong aswell and results like this are kind of expected in HK football.

He's at Al Rayyan (Qatar), with 5 goals in two games.

Not bad for a guy who couldn't hit a barn door with Middlesbrough.

And it would appear he's still a beast in the AFC Cup.

Not heard much of him the Qatari league though, but then I've never really heard of to many big names doing well in that league - they certainly don't stand out.

Looking at his record in Holland, he played 38 games and scored 45 goals!!

    South China 6:3 Persiwa
Muang Thong United 3:1 VB Sports

Good job by South China, finally getting their act together. Now they have two tough away games to face.

Good to see Muang Thong take points off VB Sports. Otherwise they could run away with the group.

As expected from Persiwa they manage to extend their record from ISL this season "never win in any away match ":p to make thing worst they also will not play in their home for the AFC home match! I'll be suprised if they manage to get a win in AFC cup!

Lol.. Persiwa is still struggling to survive in ISL. I think every clubs hope them relegated to Premier Div. so they dont need waste energy, time and money to go to Wamena.

May your words come true. South China clearly needs the win.

If South China does not win the group, then it has to play away to the Group E winners, and it looks like it will be Al Rayyan. It probably will be very, very difficult, if not impossible, to win against them at their home.

In that match Selangor got three players sent-off. The third was very rare, the referee thought khairul had been booked so he showed yellow before red but actually it was his first yellow. After consulted with his assistant, the referee still going-on with the red.

One of their player was also sent-off in previous match against Sriwijaya FC.

I do not want to point on anyone but I have a big question: are all those red cards have connection with the current pressure to malaysian FA regarding their regulation in rejecting foreign players in domestic league? == no need any answer == ;)

    Da Nang 3:0 Tai Po
    Thai Port 2:2 Geyland United

Tai Po was missing midfielder So Loi-Keung, but still it was disappointing. Tai Po's chances of qualifying to the last 16 was improved by the draw between Thai Port and Geylang United. Tai Po will need to win their next two home games against Da Nang and Geylang.

Indian authorites have not allowed Al Hilal's (Yemen) 3 foriegn players to enter the country to play the AFC Cup match. Although not Churchill Brother's fault, is it fair that this can happen in an international competition?

It wouldn't happen in European football so why is this allowed to happen in Asian football? Surely special measures should be put in place for professional football?

Will the AFC do something? I think this happened before in this competition, again with Indian athorites.

Until full details of denial are revealed we cannot make this an issue.Even Subrata pal(Indian Goal-Keeper) had to postponed his trails in Canada as authorities delayed his Visa :- http://in.news.yahoo.com/48/20100404/1252/tsp-grounded-by-visa-denial-subrata-paul.html

Anyway those 3 players won't make an big difference,as Churchill brothers are unbeaten in their home-ground and recently thrashed JCT FC 6-0

al-Qadisiya 4-1 Kingfisher East Bengal, FT
East Bengal defense more or less spoiled their attacking runs, hence the result.
Does anyone know the result of al-Nejmeh v al-Ittihad?
