I think the possibility still there. As we know, Iraq FA is suspended by FIFA and this status still not changed with 6 days remaining of group draw. The implication is Arbil&Al Najaf will be disqualified from the list. I hope persib take one of free slots.

If Iraqi clubs are suspended then only clubs form West Asia and India will fill the slots

not good enough? if you mean facility, management, stadium ,average attendance, acces to international airport aspect etc than no, they are better from persiwa good enough to fulfill even requirement for AFC champions league:rolleyes:. the only thing they lose from persiwa is rank, the rumor said that Persib willl be in east asia playoff for afc cup.

and this rumor stated by Indonesian league manager of communication & IT : Azwan karim, based of invitation letter from AFC to PSSI about participation of Indonesian club, because some of east asia club chosing to not partcipate in AFC Cup. PSSI already sent the answer to afc, that is why quite people belive this news.

I said not good enough because they didn't qualify, never mind needing a good ground or anything, there league position is what counts.

As for playoff, no no no, there isn't one. East Asia's slots have already been filled. The draw is on the 7th, if AFC add them to the draw now then they are just plain useless, especially since they have announced teams already

Persiwa won't be playing in Wamena due to AFC Requirements.

Games likely to be in Jakarta

I was looking at the numbers in the wikipedia. There is two many teams in the west if we add the playoff winners. But I think its fixed now.

    20 teams from West
    12 teams from East

I think what you looked at before was crystal balling. The only team to be taken out of the wikipedia list that AFC did not include would be Al Muharraq, hence why i think they missed them off by accident, otherwise we'd only have 19 in group stage.

KUALA LUMPUR: The AFC will include Iraqi clubs in Monday’s draw for the AFC Cup 2010.

However, a contingency plan is in place should FIFA’s suspension of the Iraq Football Association (IFA) remain beyond January 3, 2010, in which case the Iraqi teams will be disqualified.

FIFA has suspended the IFA because of government interference in its affairs. This means Iraqi teams and officials are banned from taking part in sanctioned football events.

However, AFC has decided to include Iraqi clubs Arbil and Al Najaf in the competition for the time being.

If the suspension is still in place on January 3, the two clubs will be removed from the tournament.

To accommodate both scenarios, the AFC will conduct TWO draws on December 7 on the following principles.

    First draw

Two slots allocated to Iraqi clubs
One slot allocated to the winners of the AFC Cup Play-off between Nasaf (Uzbekistan) and Al Rayyan (Qatar)
    Second draw (without Iraqi clubs)

    No Play-Off
Either Nasaf or Al Rayyan will be drawn into one of the two positions occupied by Iraqi clubs.
Either Nasaf or Al Rayyan will enter the group stage from the Play-Off winners’ position.
Only 31 teams will participate in the competition.
Note: the second draw will NOT affect the positions of other teams from the first draw.

    Group H

South China will play V. B. and an Indonesian team again. Hopefully they will repeat their results of last year.

Tai Po seems to have gotten a tough draw for their debut in this competition. Thai Port and Geylang are not easy. They will feel it more when they travel.

I respect indian teams and I know that they are strong, well sometimes.
But I really don´t think that they got the right group to go through.
I also don´t think that they beat Qadsia, one powerhouse in Westasia, with CL experience and Ittihad ,one of the better syrian teams, who also played CL sometimes. And Nejmeh has always played good matches in AFC Cup.
So I see no reason why this three teams should be frightened. They have respect-only respect. And that´s enough. That´s what I think. And I also think that Ittihad plays too bad at the moment to go through.Maybe there is a battle between Itti and india´s team for the third place or even more. But at this situation that´s my opinion.

Well I agree to some certain that Indian teams are really not good as other West Asian opponents,I guess our clubs are bit unfortunate to be pitted against strong West Asian teams. But in-spite of that they have done a decent job in AFC cup.
