    Just like last year:

    West Asia

    Al Muharraq
    Bahrain Riffa Club
    Arbil
    Al Najaf
    Al Wihdat
    Shabab Al Ordun
    Al Qadisiya
    Kazma
    Al Nejmeh
    Al Ahed
    Al Nahda
    Al Suwaiq
    Al Majd
    Al Ittihad Aleppo
    Al Hilal (Yemen)
    Al Ahly (Yemen)

    East Asia

    Binh Duong
    South China
    Tai Po
    VB Sports Club
    Victory SC
    Selangor

Again, not all confirmed to play, some changes will no doubt be made. Fr example Al Majd should now take Al Karamah's place, but this may be changed, same for Kazma taking Al Kuwaits place.

More teams will be added over the coming weeks, mainly for East Asia

Despite the defeat, Steven Lo is touched by all the fans who supported South China in the semi-final second leg. He promised he will continue his work at South China and bring the AFC Cup to Hong Kong one day. He said: "I definitely will win the AFC Cup."

Tai Po FC just announced that they will play their 2010 AFC Cup games at Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground. The new for 2009 ground can hold 3,500, it is going to be used for the 2009 East Asian Games' athletics events. Tai Po FC will become the first football team to play there.

They may also loan midfielder Lee Hong-Lim (TSW Pegasus) back for the second half of the season, so that he can help them in the 2010 AFC Cup.

South China AA's Steven Lo revealed that South China AA's home group games will all be held at the 12,000 seat Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground. It is at the Eastern most end of HK island and not very convenient.

All the games can only be held there because HK Stadium will be hosting the annual Rugby Sevens. The grass will not be any good after the games and need time to rest.

KUALA LUMPUR: Three teams from elite countries have been given a chance to take part in the AFC Cup 2010 competition.

Uzbekistan’s Nasaf, Al Rayyan, of Qatar, and Indonesian outfit Persiwa Wamena have been accepted by AFC to compete in the continent’s second-tier club competition.

All three countries are represented in the AFC Champions League but also expressed a wish to participate in the AFC Cup 2010.

Persiwa will have direct entry to the competition next year to fill one void in the East Asian side.

However, Al Rayyan and Nasaf will fight it out in a one-match play-off to determine which teams go into the West Asian side of the draw.

The draw for the play-off will be held on December 7 to determine who will play at home.

Al Rayyan and Nasaf finished third in their national league to miss out on an ACL place. Persiwa were second in the Indonesian national league.

The following are play-off and group stage match dates for the AFC Cup 2010 competition.

    Play-off

West: 23/01/10, Al Rayyan (Qatar) v Nasaf Uzbekistan), venue and time to be confirmed.

    Group Stages

    Match Day 1: 23/02/10 and 24/02/09
    MD2: 16/03/10 and 17/03/10
    MD3: 23/03/10 and 24/03/10
    MD4: 06/04/10 and 07/04/10
    MD5: 20/04/10 and 21/04/10
    MD6: 27/04/10 and 28/04/10

    Round of 16: 11/05/10 and 12/05/10

The schedule will be very demanding on South China's Hong Kong players. They have to play in the Silver Shield in December, Guangdong-HK Cup in January, then away to Bahrain for Asian Cup, then East Asian Championship in Japan in early February, plus home game against Yemen in March. Then add the league to this list of games...

I'd suggest cancelling the Guangdong-HK Cup. It is meaningless nowadays.

With that comment, the post#10 make sense now. The spot may be replaced by the west playoff winner mentioned there. I do not know the reason for the disqualification and the replacement.

No, the numbers don't add up, i think they've just been missed off the list.

Without them , we would have 31 teams in group stage, no need for playoff

Above list only shows 24 teams from should be 26. Where are the other 2 teams ?

I guess that they are probably:
    1. Al Karamah. Somehow the webmaster forgot type it :)
    2. East Play-off winner [Persib Bandung of Indonesia VS .....???]. I have read many indonesian football websites quote information from Indonesian FA that Persib Bandung (3rd ISL 2008/09) will compete in East Play-Off of AFC Cup 2010. He claimed already received a confirmation letter from AFC.

So far, here are Indonesian Clubs who will compete in AFC club competition next year.

AFC Champions League 2010 - Group Stage: Persipura Jayapura (1st ISL 2008/09)
AFC Champions League 2010 - Play Off: Sriwijaya FC (Winner of Copa Indonesia 2008/09)
AFC Cup 2010 - Group Stage: Persiwa Wamena (2nd ISL 2008/09)
AFC Cup 2010 - Play Off: Persib Bandung (3rd ISL 2008/09)

Please correct me if you have more detail information.

I think Al Karamah qualified to play in 2010 AFC Champions League as 2009 AFC Cup finalists. AFC Cup winner Kuwait SC does not qualify due to their club or their league failing AFC's criteria.

So, the group draw at Dec 7 will has one "floating slot" ?
IMO all participant teams should be defined prior to draw ?

Then.. who will take one remainder slot ? (before, I said 2 slots remaining then you confirm 1 slot will be given to India Fed Cup Winner).

I think it's simply Bahraini league winners Al Muharraq who were simply missed off the list. If they aren't in it, then AFC have buggered up.

not just far and long journey, Persiwa home is the highest place in ISL and maybe the AFC cup. that's why they are named "Storm of the Middle mountain", this highlander destroy sriwijaya 3-0 last weekend in their "mountain". maintaining their 100% undefeated home record from last season ISL!

unfortunately Persiwa suck at away match, last week they've been thrashed 3-0 by Persik in kediri, and I'm afraid and really sure AFC will not allow them playing in their home ground, jakarta or malang will be their home base, but if AFC allow them playing at their real home, Persiwa will had chance to be AFC CUP Champ:rolleyes:

and I do Hope that news about Persib play in AFC CUP is true, since IMO Persib has better player and could do much better than persiwa. and they will absolutely play in front of their fans, Bobotoh/Viking is one of the biggest and extreme supporter club in Indonesia and always generate intimidating atmosfer in their stadium:p

Persib aren't in because they simply aren't good enough.

Once again Indonesia media started a rumour that was never even researched or had any background to it.

Indonesia have 1 spot taken by Periswa
