I have a friend heading to Madrid on May 3rd. He probably will not be able to see the Real Madrid-Mallorca Liga match but would love to see the Real Madrid-Juventus match on Tuesday May 6. How can he secure tickets to this either in advance or day of match? I've gone to many Liga matches there but never a Champions League match. I know the ticket prices are higher for non socios. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! Bill
The only chance for you friend will be the scalpers. The few tickets that will be sold, will go: 1- the majority, to the Socios(members) without "Euroabono card" (season card to see all the year games -Liga,CL,Spain's Cup) . 2- and the rest - if exist rest, to the "Peñas (Supporters clubs)" in Spain and the world. None ticket will be sold to the general public. The official prices are from 40$ to 125$. I think that the prices will be at least 3 times more expensives the day of the game.
Thanks. This is a long shot for my friend but you never know. The thing that scares me about scalpers is the possibility of buying a counterfeit ticket. People can do amazing things with computers and scanners these days. I've never really paid attention to this but how serious are the police with regards to scalping in front of the Bernabeu? Do they turn the other cheek like they seem to always do here in front of MCI Center in DC (bad venue comparison but the cops here in DC don't really care) ? I've always been occupied with friends and never really paid much attention to the scalpers during the past times I've visited. Bill
I saw Alaves@the Bernabeu back in October. Ronaldo was rumored to make his debut (he did), so I had to buy from scalpers. It's pretty easy to pick out the scalpers among the crowd hanging out around the stadium, look for middle-aged guys just standing around by themselves usually. They'll either tell you the price or have it written on their palm. The guy I bought from seemed nervous, but the cops seemed very lax. The Liga tickets look ratty and I was worried about getting a counterfeit (prob not a problem for CL), but everything turned out fine. I paid $50 for a $25 ticket, so 3x markup for the game against Turin seems reasonable.
I bought the scalpers tickets three or four times when i wan't member sometime ago, and i never had problems. In all the games you see many scalpers around the stadium. There are police but they don't do too much. For example in the game against the manchester, there were many scalpers selling tickets that majority were bought by the English supporters that travel to madrid without tickets, some of them sit near to me. The only thing,For the Juventus game, is not buy the tickets that the club will sell to the socios without Euroabono, because those ticket are not valid without the socios's card. Those tickets has in big words the phrase "Para el uso exclusivo de socios(for the exclusive use of members)". If you see the word "socio" in someplace don't buy the ticket.
