Rookie Experiences of Meghan & Brooke

Here are a couple of nice quotes from two of last year's Courage rookies:

After discovering a way to turn all of the uncertainties into certainties, rookies can look back on an experience, which has profoundly shaped their lives.

“Everything that you’ll get out of it is worth everything that it takes out of you,” said Carolina Courage rookie Meghan Anderson. “I learned more in those six months about myself than I did in four years (of college). It really just challenges everything about you. It’s not so much soccer, but you as a person.”

“This was the most intense six or seven months ever,” O’Hanley agreed. “I’ve learned a lot about myself, about my goals and about soccer. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

Salary Cuts For Some Rookies

Now that it looks almost certain that roster sizes are going to be reduced to 16, a few of this year's rookies who end up as either reserves or "developmental" players are going to be getting paid a lot less than last year's rookie class. The unfortunate reality is that learning how to survive in the Triangle Area on a very low income is going to also have to end up as being part of their overall WUSA education process.
