I also intend to cover Enzo Francescoli during his second peak at River Plate (he won two Best Player of the Americas awards in 1984 and 1996). One difference with Enzo in the clubs compared to Sofascore, which only covered the two World Cups he played (1986 and 1990) where he didn’t perform as well, is that in the matches I analyzed Enzo had 84% and 92% passing accuracy (in the World Cup he was below 80%: 79% in 1986 and 69% in 1990). Perhaps he managed to be a better rhythmic at the clubs than with the Uruguayan national team, which played a more direct style of football.

Yeah, perhaps - it does seem a viable point, although like I say maybe physical shape and technical sharpness plays a part sometimes for players in different phases of a season (or even with shorter-term shifts in form).

Judging by the videos and stats, Sívori was much more of a fighter, as shown by his number of duels won; he had more attitude, at least during his prime. Dybala has a higher pass accuracy percentage, at around 80% compared to Sívori's 69%, but that is also because the average has gone up, in the 1960s, attacking midfielders completed about 65–70% of their passes, whereas today it's around 80%. So both were within the average of their respective eras

Spencer was dominant in aerial duels and a great finisher, but he wasn't a good passer, with no big chances created in that match. From that Peñarol side, the most impressive player for me was Pedro Rocha, a playmaker on the level of Zidane and Bobby Charlton.
