When is the press conference suppose to happen and is it going to be televised on any of the sports networks?

ESPN is probably too busy camped outside the Eagle County courthouse to bother. :p

Odd. Sounds like the type of thing ESPNews would cover.

Damn it. I was hoping ESPNews or even MLSnet.com would carry the press conference.... oh well...

I wonder how many media reps were at the conference...

If he ends up with a build resembling his uncle (Tony Yeboah), I don't think we're going to be worrying about his health and wellbeing for long. He will dominate people.

Why not put him in a DCU jersey and a DCU scarf? Why the generic MLS merchandise? Put him in the squad jersey and get those things out to stores ASAP. Doesn't make any sense to me.

I think MLS kinda dropped the ball on this. This kid is known around the world. Having clubs like ManU, Barca, Inter, Chelsea, etc after you, this is the kind of thing you want to be covered on tv a bit more. I wonder if they even tried to get this aired on ESPNews or something. I woulda loved to watch the press conference live. Hell, I woulda went to NYC this morning if they made it open to the public at ESPN Zone or something....

Also, it's good to get Adu on Letterman, but why not other shows as well? Cold Pizza, some of the morning shows in NYC? Maybe this will happen tomorrow? If its only Letterman, I'll be disapointed. Lets get this kid on Oprah! It's a good story, kid comes from Ghana at 7, lives poor for 5 or 6 years, mommy working two jobs, then hits it big AT FOURTEEN with a million dollar contract with Nike for playing soccer....yes.....SOCCER....

This was one of the things that came up in my Bio class this morning, the professor said "wow, you guys see that 14 year old soccer player that signed with that soccer league this morning on Sportscenter? Freddy Adu!" IT's the kind of news that people talk about. Lets capitalize MLS!!!

CNN had a quick piece starting with the line "Much Adu about Soccer." They showed a heart felt bit of the press conference where Freddy thanked his mom. Freddy is in the studio and they are going to interview him once the Michael Jackson thing is over. noon mountain time.

It's not as if all those things are just there for the asking. They'll be plenty of buzz created by this. It's unfortunate that it wasn't picked up by any networks live, but trust me it wasn't because of MLS lack of trying.
