Just found it curious that Adu is not in the 18 or on the injury report, does anyone know if he's getting traded or something? He played a great game a couple weeks ago and now nothing? Seems a bit extreme. What happened, things looke like they were going in the right direction.. . .oh well.
MLS is a little slow at updating injury reports sometimes. It's not just Adu; I've seen a lot of cases where players don't show up on the injury report until after they've already missed a game or two.
Thanks for the info! It's what I come to Bigsoccer for, "the" site for news and info soccer related. I guess not but thanks anyways. . .
SOmeone on the Philly board said it was reported by Philly media relations that it was due to an "internal matter", whatever that means. man, I'm starting to think Adu will never get his act together. So much wasted potential.
Freddy Adu has easily had the strangest career of any US player ever. This might be the end to his MLS career as well. What coach wants to inherit this contract and his baggage? Would STILL love to see him in New York, in the hole behind Cooper and Henry, with Le Toux on the right, Joel Lindpere on the left, and Dax/Lade and Marquez behind as DMs. I think Adu would shine on that spot. However, he might just get bounced from the league now. What a continuing saga. Kid can't even put one decent season together, anywhere.
He was subbed out of the game last weekend at half-time. He started off brightly in the first half but spent the remainder not connecting on simple passes and with his ass on the grass.
At 14, Freddy Adu was the youngest professional athlete in US sports history At 23, Freddy Adu has become the youngest journeyman player in US sports history.

Ship him to LA or back to DC or to the new Cosmos. By the way how many teams has he played for in he's carrer?
Really, he misses a game, and you think he is done with not only the team, but the league? Hackworth said he'll be ready for next game. Internal matter does not always mean that the coach and player hate each other or are disagreeing on something.
In fairness to Freddy, it would be nice to see one team in his career (what is he, on team #10 now?) play him where he always should have been- in the hole behind 2 strikers. He's not going to give you full defensive effort, but let him focus on creative passes to the forwards and scoring...and I think we *might* finally see the real Freddy Adu. This is why I think he would make abundant sense for him to go to NYRB, play in front of Lade or Dax + Marquez, who would focus on defense and getting the ball to Freddy. I can't see Freddy playing at any other team than Bulls, except for the great redemption project coach Arena. Not coincidentally, LA and NY would allow Freddy to possibly get back on the endorsement train. Outside mid at Philly (at 400k+ salary?). That just seems like 3 strikes.
Freddy is really, really, really expensive. That is a huge issue to come for Freddy/Philly. I was also taking seriously what I read that Freddy had removed all reference to Philly on his social media.
Freddy last tweet: For Hackworths comments, see above post: Sorry, just doesn't seem like Freddy would have a vested interest in a team he won't be part of for much longer. He also wouldn't want to be at the game. And it's even less likely that Hackworth would all but admit that they could have used him today:
We don't need Freddy Adu. We already have enough attacking options with Henry, Cooper, Le Toux, Solli, Lindpere, etc.
