Players have to sign with MLS, not individual teams.

I wonder if the MLS offered to let coaches from all the MLS teams have the opportunity to help train Adu on certain aspects of the game. That they felt they were experts in. I wonder if any of these coaches would take the MLS up on it.

    What do you guys think.

Sounds about right to me, if he's the real deal it is just what MLS needs. 2 or 3 years to generate More interest in the league and than a huge transfer fee to europe !!!

    This relates to Metro how?

  9. In 15 years Metro fans will be starting "Adu coming to NY" threads just like the "Weah coming to NY" threads. He's just setting the stage now.

If Adu were to really join DC, should i feel like a traitor for wishing him to do well as a DC player? (of course i'd still hope they end up losing every game)

Not even close. I hope he torches every team he plays every game he plays for his entire life. Except if he's playing the Fire. Then he can have a wonderful game except he had no supporting cast so they still lose.

These freaking goof balls on this site. I don't know why I continue to post here. I will rethink this position.

It has been my experience as a coach of about 1999 more games then you. That good coaches want and fight to train special players. If for no other reason then to be able to say they helped with a certain aspect of their game later on when they have made it.

Richie: It would have been oneng if your original post said something like "I wonder if MLS coaches wish they had the opportunity to train Adu on certain aspets of his game". Instead, you asked,
"I wonder if the MLS offered to let coaches from all the MLS teams have the opportunity to help train Adu on certain aspects of the game. That they felt they were experts in. I wonder if any of these coaches would take the MLS up on it".

Do you really think MLS, as a league, would offer its coaches the "opportunity" to coach one player? Is that how professional sports leagues operate? I think not.

I guess a phrased it badly, but I have had it posting here. MLS I suppose only cares about attendence.

However, it might make that kid feel that the league cares about him, and would like him to stay here instead of playing in Europe at least for a while. He might actually be fooled into thinking he may be getting something out of playing here if not money.

Also if he becomes the player most of us think he can become one day. Maybe, he will give credit to some MLS coaches for helping his game when and if he plays for a team like Manchester United.

I wonder who Howard says helped his game when he played in the US if anybody?

Well that's it. Freddy threads used to be silly, then they became pointless, they descended from there into complete inanity and have finally reached the point where they're absolute drivel.

Is there a new rule in the TOS I don't know about? Something like "Somewhere in your first five posts you must start a thread about Freddy Adu"?

I dont know if Howard ever mentioned it to the press but I know who helped his game, Des McAleenan, the best goalkeeper coach in America.

I'm certain we could let Greg Andrulis work with him.

The league will want Bradley in DC, because he's great with young talent.

We get Ray, 'cause he's good for laughs, and NYC is the capital of stand-up comedy.

    You read it here first.

I thought Eric Wynalda said coaches don't actually coach professional players and should be called "managers" instead.
