This afternoon I had the good fortune to be able to take a look at the new Earthquakes kits for 2005. This is what they looked like to me: Premio home shirt in Equakes blue with white secondary colors, (no black on shirt). Shorts are black with white secondary. The away jersey is the San Siro. All white with blue secondary colors(really classy looking). The training shirt used the black accents, more similar to the Nike home shirt of the past few years. Per Kevin Ross, the Adidas soccer business manager, they will be available for fans to purchase before the home opener. Enjoy!

    Oh no! :(

Do the jerseys (home and away) at least have the same shade of blue as before, and do they have both the San Jose Earthquakes logo badge with two championship stars and the San Jose Earthquakes wordmark across the chest area (I certainly hope so)?

How much sooner (hopefully not "the day before the home opener")?

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

Don't DCU and Columbus Crew have the Adidas Premio Jersey already. I thought adidas wanted to make every team have their own identity. How can teams have their own identity if they wear the same type of jersey?

Just because it's the same jersey style doesn't mean they have to look alike.
    Point-in-fact: 2005 Columbus Crew jerseys
And only DCU's away jerseys are Premios: DCU away jersey

however almost every team in the league will have the same 3 stripes on their shoulders. can't they put the 3 stripes somewhere else?

I like the sound of the new kits... obviously, can't wait to see the real deal.

I think our identity (as Quakes at least) goes back to the blue and white tops from '01. If you look at the kits from established EPL clubs over a period of time, the always change in small accents based on the maker and style of the times (which is fine), but they have the same colors. Look at kits like Aston Villa (used to cover the walls of the Mad Dog in SF); they were all that deep red with the sky blue sleeves. Some years were more extreme than others with thick stripes or sides all blue too, but the color combinations never strayed too far.

The important thing is the week keep the combo of predominantly blue top with white accents and black shorts. That's our trademark. That's how we will be remembered in 10, 15, 20 years from now...

    Just my $0.02... Go Quakes!

Other than that or chests (ala DCU, who I think would pitch a fit if anyone else used the style) where do you propose they put the stripes so that they are still easily seen?

They could do n off center single vertical row of stripes ala Paris Saint Germain

The thing I'm most worried about is adidas changing our blue.

But then, we sold everybody from Donovan to Mulrooney, so at this point they might as well change our name to the Fresno Farts.

    Sorry Goodsie: San Jose Farts.

DC United did it already. It looked like a tire tread.

I've only seen a drawing of the jersey so I can't say until they make an acutal mock-up, but the blue looked the same (along with the crest and wordmark). I think I remember the stars being there too.
